Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with Animal Crossing: New Leaf (ACNL). My sister started playing on a hacked* USA O3DS with a USA .CIA of ACNL ages ago and now has a USA Save File for it obviously. She now has a better (also hacked*) EUR NEW3DS and has many games on that and wants to put her USA save file on this EUR console with an EUR version of the game. She has spent hours on the game and doesn't want to start again.

I tried using JKSV and SaveDataFiler many times and rearranged files and tried everything with them, but it all resulted with the game saying the save file was corrupted and needed to be formatted.

I know I can just install a USA .CIA of the game onto her hacked EUR 3DS but she really would rather the EUR version of the game. Any help/suggestions/solutions? Much appreciated.

*ALL 3DS'S were hacked using Plailect's guide.

Its likely that you need to change the secure value in the save file for it to not give you the save corrupt message

I'm a sort of noob when it comes to the fine details in the save files, can you teach me or redirect me to a tutorial of some sort? I'd really appreciate it :)
I do have a thinger listed in one my posts. Let me find that and update this post.

*Eeeehh. Cant find it. Anywhos. You will need a hex editor to do this. You will need both the file your trying to import plus a fresh save made on the eur console game aswell.

You will open garden_plus.dat on the editor. The first line you will see will have a line like 59 A1 1E 3F 17 CC 9A 33 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00. That first line is the secure value.

When you make a new save file on the eur game. Export that save. Open it in the hex editor. You will see that line in the first row. Copy that, and paste it over the us save. Save the us file and then import it with jksm.

Just remember, do not load animal crossing anytimes during this until that process is complete. Or the console is going to produce a new secure value and will give same message again to you.

Thank you very much!!!! I'll try that now.
One more question though, what about all the other files? (E.g. exhibition.dat , amiibo.dat, etc.)

Those additional files will import over without any hassle for you. Its just the garden_plus.dat that will give you the error message.

Okay so I tried to do that thing multiple times with the Hex editor but it kept coming up with the error of corrupt save file. I tried replacing the top line in the garden_plus.dat and pasting the top line on there (all tries with a new save) and they didn't work. Any other suggestions? EDIT: Or maybe if I send you the garden_plus.dat of the USA and EUR ones you can do it for me?

I don't think the games are compatible. I was talking with my friend and she mentioned that the games are heavily modified for the locale. You could try the move in function to move the town USA version to EUR version. You'll have to install both or install the USA version and try to move it to EUR install or cartridge. I'm not sure if it'll work or not.

Hey there, thanks for the reply.

That didn't work unfortunately, it only just restored the fresh EUR save I made.

Is it okay if I make a whole fresh EUR save and attach both that save and the USA save I want to convert onto the forum so that you could try again? I really appreciate your help and my sister would be ecstatic.

Thanks again.

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
