Hello fellas, i already own a slim vita ( i love this thing ! ) the only thing im not a big fan of is the somewhat washed out screen compared to the beautiful oled of the first model vita.

long story short is it worth buying the oled vita (it is in used condition has only some scuffs on its back, the screen is mint) and costs 50$ !
i would like the oled vita for both collectible and id also probably play a few titles on it (and most of the gba games/psp on it)

and also it is on fw 3.65 and im guessing Enso can be applied to this fw?

the only other question i have is , how would you copy files to the oled vita since it does not have micro usb port like the slim one.
is it still through that content manager (or was it QCMA) trick..?

thx in advance.

$50! That’s a killer price. The charging cable for that version is proprietary, but will work to transfer files by usb. Or you can ftp.
As for the firmware version, you’ll have to do a lot of digging to find one on that firmware, or swap out the motherboard. You can find motherboards on eBay an AliExpress, I’m sure other sites as well. I have an oled version, but I find that the lowest brightness is still too bright for me. I usually game at night, when the kids are asleep. How’s the lcd brightness in the dark? Is that too bright?

oh the one im talking about is 3.65 , i turned it on when i was at the shop today.
displayed 3.65, i googled it and it seems enso perma boot works on that.

so you think i should go for it? o.o

i feel your pain, my lcd version is also very bright, but the oled looked even brighter to me.
and yeah even on lowest at nighttime is rly too bright.

i just prefer the oled overall, oh well will see how it goes!
and just to add to the brightness thing, i never put brightness up full, not on my phone/vita/switch/tv i keep it all at 20-50% max.
because too bright is an eye killer man, i only ever put brightness up when im outside

I’d say go for it, because the screen is in good condition and it’s hackable. Just know that this vita is a tad bigger than the slim version that you have. You can probably sell that for $120 if you don’t like it anyhow.

i actually like my slim but might sell it ,not sure.
and i love the somewhat bigger oled vita, i found it pretty light when i used it.
used to own once, anyways, is it also possible to just stick my 64gb sony card from my slim to the oled ? would it read the data (as long as i have enso installed on the oled). ?

nono, it have both wifi and 3g

is kinda useless at this point, but the 3g mode is kinda more rare i guess
oh sounds good !
i dont mind that, i just want it to be compatible with my sony card! if it is then dang sweet.
saves me the headache of installing everything over again!

so according to you, if i install the perma enso hack on the oled, i can just swap my 64gb card into it and maybe like refresh database and all of the games will pop up ?

Perma enso is that whenever you turn off Vita, so not sleepmode, it will still boot in enso.
Make sure to unlink the used 64gb memcard in Henkaku settings in Settings and then you can put it in the oled vita, open H-encore to log in in PSN so your PSN id will be linked to your memcard.

I have 5 vita's oled myself and swapped the memcards too and the games will pop up. Hope that answers your question.
No need to refresh database.

The slim vita has an LCD with more accurate, less artificially saturated colours. I say this after trying a friend's slim which I don't own (but want to own). It will probably have no longevity issues and other oddities we find with unready OLED displays. It is lighter and buttons sized much more ergonomically. It has no tacky silver-painted plastic on the edges. It feels a thousand times more refined to me, but others consider it 'cheap' which I will never understand. It has LED power indicators reminiscent of the DS Lite and it has no distracting illuminated PS logo. I love it. The Slim also has better battery life. At least when new. It can also go less bright at lowest brightness setting (but still not dim enough for my liking).

The only mechanically better design I like in the Fat is the proprietary connector. This has be more mechanically robust than MicroUSB. Of course not as easy or cheap to get replacement cables though. Don't sell the slim, is my advice.

I can think of a lot worse ways to spend $50 than that. Go for it. It will satisfy your curiosity, if nothing else. And you'll be able to sell it for no loss if you want to.
