Hi:

I have a OG switch and got a sxpro and that's fine, I was on 5.02 and took a nand backup with the sx bootloader nand menu and copied that everywhere so I still have it, then using ChioDujour101 updated to 8.0 and now can't boot into sxos, what I want to know is:
1. Is this because sxos beta 2.6.2 is not compatible with anything higher then 7.1.0?
2. If I take my old nand backup and restore it will it also have the game saves that were in it at the time of the backup (as in does the nand menu backup option take the user partition too with my game saves)?
3. How do I found out if I have an issue with fuses or if that matters. It does boot into ofw 8.0 with no issue.
4. If I take the nand restore option and then use Choi to go to 7.1.0 exfat version will sxos boot then and emunand will work this time?

I need to know as a friend is playing botw on my switch and if I lose his saves which are still on there atm which I can't dump as I can't get into cfw he will be real pissed lol.

Thanks.
Malcolm

8.0 does not have a CFW yet. Not Atmos, not SX, nothing. Downgrade back to 5.0.2 if you have the backup. SX is compatible with 7.0.1 I believe.
Thanks for the quick reply but my nand backup should also have those saves in it right so I wont be losing those? I have no issue restoring if that is the case and using the same method to go to 7.0.1 If I can't have the saves I'll wait and have my friend finish the game first. I take it there is no windows tool to look into the bin files and take the saves from it as in the parts are not separate partition schemes atm?

With some games you can get away with using a hex editor but honestly I couldn't tell you.

I used HacDiskMount and saw it did have my user partition with over 2GB of space so took the plunge and it was okay, I now have the console at 7.0.1 and am currently attempting to make a hidden partition on the micro sd for emunand with exfat (at least I think its using exfat). Wish the Bootloader had a brightness option so that it was not full blast on one screen for hours while making this.
Thanks again for your help.

Well I backed up my whole emu and it works for now and I have a nand backup of the whole thing and if it corrupts the emunand i'm out some data of something that's not the end of the world also i'm under the hat that the corruption is due to crappy sdcards that are not designed to read write with the stress that the switch does once you are running an os off it. You need a card that is designed to take something like that for long periods of time like what the dashcam community uses (Samsung endurance line for instance). If I were to go the Fat32 route what is the best app to recombine 5GB files back onto the card, something would have to split them and rebuild them like the psp used.
