Hello,
I've read through the numerous threads here regarding achieving full speed N64 emulation and have followed the instructions however, I suspect I may not be placing my files correctly on the SD Card and perhaps that's why it isn't running at full speed. I am using Retroarch 1.7.5 with MUPEN64PLUS-NEXT core (both freshly downloaded so I know it's the updated versions) and SX-OS 2.6.1. I am launching Retroarch from the Homebrew Menu using full memory access (Hold R on the game running when launching it).

I have the Mupen64Plus-Next with GLideN64 (master) which included three files:
I have placed the Android AArch64 (containing mupen64plus_next_libretro_android) in the SD root and a copy in Retroarch as I wasn't sure where it went.
I placed the Nintendo Switch folder on the root containing mupen64plus_next_libretro_libnx
I have placed the Win64 (containing mupen64plus_next_libretro.dll) in the root of the SD.

Is this correct? The games run however they are very laggy. Have not yet experienced a crash.

Thank you

You don't need the Windows or Android files at all. Just delete them.

The mupen64plus_next_libretro_libnx.nro file goes in sd:/retroarch/cores/.

Alright this is done - although the emulator still appears to be running the games with a lag (only trying Super Mario 64 which I'm told is able to run at full speed). Am I using a wrong version or something?

SX-OS 2.6.1. I am launching Retroarch from the Homebrew Menu using full memory access (Hold R on the game running when launching it).

Just to make sure, you're holding R on a game that's on your Switch menu like for example BOTW or Mario Odyssey correct? Then it should redirect you to the homebrew menu instead of launching said game. It's hard to tell with how you worded this if that's what you're doing so just making sure because you won't get full ram without launching from a switch game on the main menu.

Also make sure you're getting mupen64plus-next from m4xw's twitter not the nightly.

Hi there,

I am indeed holding R on the game itself, not the Album icon, and it launches the Homebrew Menu (In widescreen interestingly enough) then I select Retroarch. The mupen64plus-next however I found on a non-twitter website stating it was the latest one...not twitter. I'll see if I can find the non-nightly and see if it makes a difference. Will keep you updated! Thank you for your response.

You can try toggling frame duping, framebuffer, VI Refresh (try 2200), Framerate (try fullspeed or try original if it's fullspeed already) also make sure it's dynamic_recompiler. That's all my advice I can give if it's still laggy I don't know.
