sorry I really don’t know the answer to this question and it doesn’t explain thoroughly in the banning thread so yes, can you use the same Nintendo id account from a banned switch on to another without that new switch getting banned instantly? Thanks also how could I check to see this is ok and works without accessing the account through another switch.

I have 2 switch, i used my account in my banned switch, then used it in the new, that was almost a half year ago, so far so good.

You should be able to. And I think that they won't ban it. But wait for someone to confirm this.
Thanks for quick answer I’m not 100% sure myself, it seems possible but I don’t want to chance it without knowing first.

Ok thanks. Did you check with Nintendo or anyone first or did you just connect the account to your new switch and hope for the best outcome?

Thanks for the answers they all help. I have checked my ex "banned Switch" Nintendo account online and my Nintendo Switch Online Subscription still shows as active that I originally paid for so I presume it's ok to use the same account ID on another Nintendo Switch else surely it would show disabled or something like that would it not? If Nintendo claim on the telephone bans are an automated procedure and they do not control the bans then maybe it would be ok but if it's not then using the same ID account might raise suspicions using it on another Switch and Nintendo would be looking for active hacking on the new console I'm really not sure tbh.

I’m prettty sure legally they can’t ban your switch if you haven’t violated any terms on that switch if anything they would ban your account which would be just a matter of making a new one ..

I won’t start another thread I’m hoping members will see this comment and give advice I have another unit it’s on firmware 4.1.0 now before I go updating the unit is there anything I can do with it on the early firmware other than what I already know thanks. I have noticed the switch sd slot is not exfat only fat32 anyway around this unless updating firmware?

Would I be best to keep ofw on 4.1.0 untouched/factory and set emunand up on firmware 7.1.0 and use Incognito to go online with emunand and keep using emunand?

False. Nintendo bans hardware not accounts. If they wanted to they could legally ban hardware & accounts.

Banning hardware is effectively bricking the switch most Games these days need latest firmware and updates to play . if they were to start banning switches that actually did nothing wrong I couldn’t begin to imagine the legal uproar.. ofcourse they could but legally they won’t

There is the option of setting up 90DNS to block Nintendo server so it doesn't bother you when there is a game update available, in addition, there is the option of getting game updates through HBG Shop.

That’s actually not the point

Well playing on CFW would just get you ban regardless, it is just matter of time, I used my hacked switch without the dns before and it prompt me to update the game before loading, if you block communication between Nintendo server and the switch you can avoid the switch bugging you about update, hbg shop just an easy solution toward update and dlc.

Yes you can, I had a weird issue tho 2 games I redeemed through code (Bayo1 and Megaman col2) disappeared from my purchase history on the new console.

Not on an unmodded Switch that's never violated any terms... That's what he's saying.
However they can and will ban you from CDN on any console that has been connected to the same network if you pirate stuff from CDN. That is just a CDN ban though and not a system-wide console ban IIRC.

It's best to keep it on FAT32, the chances of corruption are orders of magnitude lower.

You can still update the firmware unofficially so that's not really an issue.
