Can you try the newest release? It might have been a problem with the audio_driver kernel plugin which is now removed.
Change-log:
- Add support for playing .MOD, .S3m and .IT audio files.
- Remove audio_driver.prx and use a modified version of pspaudiolib.
- This fixes support for mono audio files.
- No longer dependent on kernel mode prx, and samples everything at 44.1K.
- Initialize mpg123 during boot-up to save time instead of re-initializing for each MP3 file.
- Cleaned up how ID3v1 genres are handled for MP3 files.
- Fixed filename not being displayed when no ID3 data found.
- Flash2 and Flash2 can now be accessed.
- Properly display module name for XM/MOD/S3M/IT audio files.
- Added support OPUS audio playback.

Edit: I found out that the crash this time was caused by the TempAR plugin in the v2.30, I disabled it and it runs perfectly. Even with the categories plugin enabled.
My PSP by the way: 3001 6.61 Pro-C Infinity and I have quite a few plugins and only with TempAR enabled that the crash happens.

About the tempar thing I'm not sure what would cause an issue with that. The only prx files that CMFileManager loads is the USB modules in flash0. Can you try the following:
1. In CMFileManager, press start to go to settings.
2. Turn off auto USB mount.
3. Exit the game, and re-open it.
4. Try enabling tempar again and see if that helps?
If that doesn't help I'm afraid I can't do anything about it.
Tried just now and it still crashes, TempAR users must disable it then, not an issue for me.
I just noticed you said you use Infinity CFW, I think that might be the issue cause I remember some people saying Infinity caused some issues with plugins. Which is probably why tempar doesn't like this.

It will delete the extension if you rename a file say: file.txt -> to test. If you rename it don't delete the extension when renaming.
Also about the other features, not going to happen because there isn't enough interest in this. I don't think I'll be doing much from now.
Hey, 4k views and you still thinks that there is not much interest? I think that's enough for me and even if it's not, you should do the other features, I'm interested by the way. Read pdf, txt, listen to music, watch videos, read comics and manga, being able to rename and organize files such as extract them and finally being able to send and recieve files via adhoc, this would be the perfect manager for the PSP and your manager is great, wish I had the skills to do them myself, but it's your call, I cannot give you support with money (wish I could) but you have many thanks from me for making this manager (which also is better them the other I was using).
I mean I've come to the point where I've done a good amount for this project which I'm happy with, so I'd like to lay low, fix bugs if they pop up and make minor changes. I don't really have to time invest on big features right now. I do appreciate that people care about this even if its just you and a few others. Views doesn't necessarily mean that many people use it by the way. I mean its a pretty old device for today's standards so its understandable.
Oh I got it, I undertand that, but I don't think about today people coming and wanting some app for the console, I see the future people that will come after a manager which is capable of many things that you will use for things you could only do with a PC, I'm one of those, but I agree that if you are happy that means that you did what you wanted to, so if you say that it's finished, then I'm satisfied enough, even though this is a great manager. And yeah, not many people would use that because the console is old, but I know that many will use it.

hey there, your app was just what I needed since the usb port on my unit got broke and I need to move files which I got download trough wifi. unfortunately it only worked for once and then kept crashing the unit over and over again. I'm running 6.60 pro-b on a 3004 without any plug-ins. please let me know if I can provide any more information to solve this.
ps: just updated to pro-c2 and app seems like running just fine atm
ps2: it does get in a crash cycle every now and then but a vsh and device reset fixes it, idk what puts it in a crash cycle tho. also is it possible to unzip/unrar with this? I've seen many posts about pspfiler being able to do that and downloaded it just to figure out it doesnt have that feature.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by crash cycle. Is there something that you do before it crashes? Does it happen after you move/copy something? Also if your USB is broken I'd recommend turning off the automatic USB mounting option in settings. (Hit start and navigate to the Automatic USB mount, and toggle it off).
For your other question, it supports extracting zip files but not rar files. IIRC it might crash if the zip file is too big.
hallo me again begging again for at least the txt file come on man we need it i will give you an example : i want to finish a game and i want a walkthrough or i have the gba emulator and i need to edit a cheat file... or i have a text i want to read it without using my old noisy pc (because im broken right now and i don't have money to buy a new one) for the love of God can you consider it? i know its a selfish situation here and im looking to myself and i hate to be that man but please just the txt.

It's a lot of work. And for such an old device I don't want to put in so much effort, for just two people to use a feature. If I want to do something I'd want to do it correctly and not half assed so it'll take a while. Also did I mention I'm not being paid for this? So there isn't much motivation for this. I hope that answers it.
Besides, doesn't the PSP already have some text editing applications you can use in the meantime?

I know I've talked to you at length on the discord, but I thought I'd publicly say this is really damn cool as a piece of PSP software and doesn't get enough credit. I know FTP/AdHoc file transfers are a requested feature, but even as-is CM is quite robust and the GUI is one of the best I've seen in a homebrew application.
