Safe proper way to downgrade to 6.2 (NO NAND BACKUP NEEDED)

Hello. After I saw this many of bad turtorials, I decided to help you on doing a downgrade without a nand backup.
Let's begin. Make sure you have enabled autorcm on hekate https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/releases and have a Nand backup. I am not responsible for bricks.
First step make a folder on your sd named "FW"
Second step I don't know if it's against the rules to give you fw files from here, better safe than sorry! Anyway, google "Switch firmware files" and you should find a link
Third step download 6.2 and unzip it on the fw folder we made
Fourth step if you don't use atmosphere we will need to use it to get to choidujournx, put the files on your sd card https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/releases
You can use external payload with SX pro and gear by putting the atmosphere payload on the root of sd and injecting it through the menu of sx. press vol+ while booting sx and click options then external payload, then atmosphere's payload. Don't do this now since we haven't put choidujournx on the sd yet.
Fifth step make sure you have choidujournx on your switch folder https://switchtools.sshnuke.net/
Sixth step boot on atmosphere (for sx pro and gear users launch now your external payload) and open choidujournx on the hbmenu
Seventh step choose the fw folder and click select all. It will start reading the files
Eighth step it will ask you if you want exfat 6.20 or 6.20. choose exfat
Ninth Click system initialize (WARNING All games saves and stuff will be gone once we do this) If we don't do this, brick chances hit the roof!
Tenth start installation
Eleventh click reboot once it's done.
twelfth click reboot now
Thirteenth, inject your old payload and start the setup.
Good luck!
It means a lot to me if you like my post!
Ask me any questions and if I can, I'll answer!

My steps were almost the same as yours, except I didn't select "wipe/reset my switch" in ChoidujourNX, then it bricked.
Although I restored my Nand backup, but it took me 70-80 mins to restore. It's so long.
Perhaps, when I got the time. I'll try to downgrade again.

If anyone bricks during a 6.2 downgrade and you don`t have an emmc backup, the best thing to do is

Use "blank" 6.2 BOOT0/1 files - I have made some but I`m not sure how legal they are.
Build a customised version of Hekate which ignores incorrect restore size, restore these "blanks" in Hekate
Boot Atmosphere CFW. First boot will complete... Then you can boot stock (thru Hekate / fusee-primary only as fuse count will be incorrect)

This is the way I do it anyway.

So is this way even reliable to go online assuming we downgrade? or reinstall our system to the same exact system version? then just reboot normally and do the setup? (Leave the Brick Out)(I still have a Clean 6.2.0/7.0.1 NAND backup).

No, because it doesn't wipe files we need to clear. I will make a new turtorial in 12 hours cuz I am out of home

I am noy trying this because I have not bricked my switch. Imo I would make from choidujour pc a nand of 5.10. Choi is really useful these days.

I'm curious how you made the blank boot files?

Easy.

Simple.

You need 2 x boot0 from different consoles. On the same FW.
Do a diff on them both. The correct sections are easy to spot. Delete diff, zero-fill
Chop to 1536kb (17FFF0)

Restore with Hekate (with size check disabled - build your own. I`m putting an option in my simple-uf2 to do just that.)
Boot with AMS

I know I can get clean ones from 6.1 and below, could I ask a favour as I've only got the one console, could you send me blank 6.2, 7.0 and 7.0.1 boot files?

I can, but how? The copyright police members on here would jump on me.

Went on it before, but I have no idea what I`m doing on dickscord.

I`ll go on later. Have to do a 60 mile drive in about 10 minutes.

Hit him up on Discord. I think I know what he is trying to do.

That wasn't what I had in mind, if its what you messaged about, but it will be handy to have :O

Maybe it's the issue why it won't boot. So who knows ;)
Then any risk of bricks would be null, atleast restorable to a functioning state.

Maybe @mattytrog would be intrested and try to crack the last hurdle?

BACKUP IS ALWAYS NEEDED..
Dont play the brick lottery, Proper way proper guide no...
You lose power whilst choidujournx is running or writing updates,
then you wont recover back into homebrew to run choidujourNX,
And without a backup, your have to rebuild your nand with choidujour.exe AND hacdiskmount
ALWAYS BACKUP FIRST OR HAVE A BACKUP PREVIOUS Period.
