Since its delay last year, we haven't heard much of SEGA's upcoming miniature sized version of the Mega Drive/Genesis. Thanks to SEGA Fes 2019, we now have a better idea of what exactly the Genesis Mini will entail. On September 19th, the system will release worldwide, bundled with 40 different games that will vary depending on region. As the event took place in Japan, SEGA revealed the first ten titles in the lineup for eastern fans:

• Sonic 2
• Puyo Puyo 2
• Shining Force
• Castlevania: Bloodlines
• Powerball
• Gunstar Heroes
• Comix Zone
• Rent a Hero
• Space Harrier II
• Madou Monogatari I

The small console will either look like a Genesis or Mega Drive, and comes with a single controller and the aforementioned 40 games for about $60.00. If you want a second controller, you'll be able to get a package that offers all the previously mentioned items, and an additional gamepad for $80.00. M2, known for their Sega Ages collection, or alternatively, the 3D Classics Sega games on the Nintendo 3DS, will be developing the system software and handling the porting.

Don't think this is an AT games console but made by Sega themselves. Doesn't have the ATgames logo on the console or even on the box and it is on the official sega page. Previous atgames consoles weren't even on that main page.

Slower but with an increased resolution. Also had to do with lazy devs, if the frametiming was done correctly on a 50hz game, it wouldn't run that much slower. It's because the base game was made with 60hz in mind so when playing on a 50hz console it will be missing a lot of frames

Well.... if this holds some weight to it and has more classic games lineup like streets of rage 1+2, sonic 1-3K, road rash then i will be investing! the hardware is most important and if done right then fans will snap up... lets hope it has flaws like the other consoles lol

I can only see this being worth it to someone for the nostalgic feels and having zero knowledge with emulation in which I have a couple of peers and friends that fits the category

you want the game list? just check the other half dozen sega classic collections.
there's gonna be some sonic 1, but not 3, altered beast, star oceans (but one is missing), golden axes, alex kid of curse, alien soldier and vectorman, kid chameleon, decap attack, gain ground of course, dynamite heady is likely, landstalker if you're lucky, between one and three shinobi games, ristar, probably one or two dumb sonic games like spinball, every streets of rage, sword of vermillion.

and then probably some master system extras like flicky.

what happened to the 50 sega classics games on switch anyways? is that one out?

No thanks. I liked only two: Castlevania and Mega Man The Wily wars. So emulator is fine for me. Most games sucks when I played Mega Drive in childhood time. I will skip it.

Ther was hardly anything better and had a great catalogue so I'm guessing you were on the amiga as I'd say all round tht was the machine to hav

I thought the Sega Genesis Flashback HD was supposed to be their "Genesis Mini"? Even though that thing is kind of shitty, it still exists and people bought it. This is kind of a fuck you to those that bought the previous one.
But hey, at least they dropped AtGames. After all the shitty licensed clone consoles they've made, I'm surprised Sega still wanted to do business with them.

Also, the Analogue Mega Sg is a thing and you can preorder it right now, shipping very soon. I'd prefer that over this since it plays cartridges and will likely have a jailbreak firmware soon like the other Analogue consoles. It's not cheap though.
