that video is bad.

on the left tab, it tells you to open the folder on your PC where you have your ISO : good.
on the right tab, it tells you to "select folder" but you should choose "select drive" instead!
let's say you choose the "select folder" like displayed, it shows you to select "convert to wbfs THIS TAB", don't do that either. just select "to the other tab". why would you make a wbfs file on your computer? just convert the ISO to wbfs directly to the other tab.
finally, the video shows ... nothing ! after the conversion + "copy to wbfs" option, the video tells you to delete the game, and see nothing else.

you should at least expect to see the game on the right side, no? and it's not, so how could you think this video was the one to follow? it's so wrong.
couldn't you tell by yourself that it's a bad video ? don't just follow the first thing you see on internet, think by yourself a little.

I thought I'd quit helping him when he wasn't replying to my questions, but I guess I'm weak ahaha

and I never touched a Mac in my life, all my help was simple visual deductions.

Okay this is a bit different for me, only a handful of games are not working for me. I have
Wii 4.3E
HBC 1.1.2
cIOS was alt53, changed it to v10 beta 52 to 249, 250 with 656665 (nothing changed)
USB Loader GX 3.0 r1268
I am using wiibackup manager for my NTFS USB HDD
Games that work: wii play, wii sports, wii sport resort, dirt 2, kirby wii, Sin and Punishment 2, Super Mario Galaxy
Games that don't work: NFS: Carbon, CoD MWF 3, Splinter cell Double agent.

The USB only offers exFAT or NTFS when I try to format it in my PC, I am not sure it will work when I try to use FAT32, it is a cheap USB HDD I bought I know. I am currently looking at regional locks, may be that is an issue.

no. search for guiformat.exe on the internet. it is a tool that will allow you to format your drive to fat32

Okay i will try to guiformat
I think it is a region thing as my wii is 4.3E and the games are PAL.
I tried priiloader from wiibrew downloaded the hack hash, did the work but nothing changed. There were different versions of hack hash I used the one that was out side the 4x or 3x folders.

Hello! Sorry for the necromancing, I have a very similar problem though. USBLoader GX sends me back to HBC menu. Now, I tried to do the d2x thing as described at 249, but I get a net_init error. Which is understandable, as I've no way to connect my wii to the internet. So, long question short: can this be done offline somehow?
Many thx in advance!

Hello.:)

You can try it with a .WAD Manager like Wii MOD Lite or Multi Mod Manager.
You can get that Tools with ModMii or from here:

https://github.com/RiiConnect24/Wii-Mod-Lite/releases

http://www.hacksden.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=93

Thank you.:)

So, after a gazillion of various failed attempts with different tools, I realized that the wad file ModMii had downloaded was somehow corrupted. With the help of NUSDownloader and pimpmywii, I finally flashed the correct wad into ios249 and USBLoaderGX works now like a charm! Thx for your help guys!

Thank you very much, I'll try it and report back! :)

I'm having the same problem. USB Loader GX sends me back to Homebrew when starting Wii games from external HD. This is vWii on Wii U. I get a black screen and sent back to Homebrew when I choose "start" from the banner screen. I have no problem running GameCube games from SD.

Hi,

I need help with launching games from USB and this seems to be the very best place to ask for it.
I have watched many videos and read many guides and opinions.
So far I have resolved many issue which I may would have dodged if I had found the right resources right from the start.
I am stuck now and trying random things at this point does not sound like a good idea in the light of this opportunity.

Here where I am at:
USB loader lists the games ok and when I select Mario Kart I see the "Poster" and hear te music.
Then I press start and am being back at the Homebrew screen

USB Loader GX v.3.0 r1271 (sourceforge)

1TB hdd Fat32, USB slot close to edge
My discs are scratched and I have downloaded ISO versions of my games.
Games from ISO to wbfs folder on hdd using Manager app

d2x cIOS installer v.3.1 (dragbe) (posted by Cyan, in this thread)
(before that I had used the version provided by wiiguide and it seems to be the same)

Hello,

correct syscheck report.

test your games with wiiflow lite or Configurable loader v70. ==> myself, I use the three loaders, it is a choice which is not negligible.

For usb loader gx ==> change the cios 249 by 058 in the parameters of your loader and see the result ??

Maybe you need a Y cable for your external hard drive ==> to have a better connection with the wii
