Although the world never knew because the multiplatform game of Eidos Montréal, Thief, never released on this platform.

But neither the world nor Eidos Montréal itself know anything about it, you can ask me and explain reasons in this thread.

Possible causes:
  • The developers will not make inferior versions from the games (which costs money).
  • Possibly, the architecture from the Wii U was somewhat similar to that from Atari Jaguar, it could be too complex and impossible to develop or create things in it, which made very few developers support the Wii U, would not it be true or not?
  • The hardware from the console could be poorly designed, I do not think it's the architecture.
  • It could be because the console was not popular and creating games there was not profitable for several reasons you explain.
  • Probably due to the piracy of the console, since the developers themselves thought that it would be the same or easier to hack the console as the Wii, which caused sales to drop and the developers of the system went away.
  • Perhaps it is due to the discs (which are patented discs by Panasonic), which are difficult to pirate and record, in the same way as the NUS cartridges from the N64 and the GD-ROM from the Dreamcast, very silly reason.
  • Probably due to Nintendo's policies, which led developers away.
  • Nintendo has had a strong stance against piracy, and maybe they thought it was a game about stealing things just by name, which would lead to piracy. It would also explain the lack of Grand Theft Auto as well.
  • From course that could be over-thinking it. The real reason could be simpler, since the bad sales from previous games made the editor think that a port would not be profitable.

This is mostly it. Money is their #1 goal and if devs/publishers see that there's money to be made they will put in the effort to make it work even if it won't be easy. Look at the Switch, it got ports of games that by all rights should be too demanding to run on it, for example Doom. Optimizing those games to even be considered playable on Switch can't have been easy.

I just don't get it anyone else who shitposts as much as NancyDS gets suspended then banned from the site in a prompt manner. Yet the mods are doing fuck all about this idiot. Why?
1. Is he financing the site? no probably not. 2.Is he related to one of the site staff? Probably not.
3. Is he one of the site staff pretending to be NancyDS? Probably not

So why the heck is he getting away with it?

Why are the site staff keeping him here and giving themselves more work. Every single thread he has created has had to be closed because of his bullshit which just leads to people myself included getting pissed off at his crap.

It's quite frankly bizarre he is still here.

Thief was a cross-gen title with a crappy last-gen version that was borderline non-functional. It was also not a great game and had a troubled development.

The Wii U had long since bombed utterly and completely by the time Thief was being released. That a third party would waste money doing a port of a game targeted at older teens/adults on a system with a near-zero user base of them* is laughable.

*And of people of that criteria that owned a Wii U, it was the primary console for far fewer. Meaning that said users wouldn't be interested in a worse looking, worse running version of a game for a console said people owned for exclusives.

The Wii U was using an ancient and often difficult-to-develop for architecture; it was a difficult system to develop and port games over to.
Why did not Nintendo make a slim version of the Wii U during its useful life?

the PS3 Slim solved the problem of the yellow lights and eliminated the backward compatibility with PS2, because it caused problems of poor optimization and hindered the development of games on the hardware and the system, causing very few games of the PS3 system to run at 1080p, causing "bottlenecks" in the system.
