fingers crossed. That was the biggest downside to 5.05 HEN, the loss of rest mode (which my family uses heavily).

Looks like there is an online updated version to test with at https://twitter.com/notzecoxao?lang=en.

I hope there is a local updated package available soon.

Nope, it is the same "HEN 1.8" with the hooks for remote package installer as has been posted for roughly 2 months now. Although there is the new one for FW 4.74 that he is hosting now.

Too many HEN's.. xvortex's HEN is on 1.7, at least that is what I recalled.
So I guess when I saw 1.8 I assumed it was the newer version, now that I know that, I can now see he is just saying where his version of 1.8 is now hosted.

Here are the main differences with the HEN releases for FW 5.05.

Hen v1.5 : Released by xVortex (the first release for FW 5.05)
Hen v1.6 : Released by xVortex (various bugfixes to increase stability)
Hen v1.7 : Last release by xVortex (patches added to allow games to be run from external USB)
Hen v1.8 : Released by zecoxao (patches added to allow remote PKG installation)
Hen v1.9 : This is still being worked on... (patches added to fix rest mode crash with fPKG's)

I've been testing this a lot and it is not anymore stable than Specters original 5.05 release. In fact that is what it is based from.
I've still had kernel panics so it is not perfect.

The good thing about this is that it supports firmware versions 4.74 and 5.01 and 5.05 so it will work on either one.

The thing that puzzles me is that because the code is from Specters first 505 release it still uses the first, and now very outdated Hen+Mira payload.
I've no Idea why he didn't update that, makes no sense to me.

That's a bummer. I tried copying the website locally (with all javascript, PS4 does not have Internet access) and I just get an error when it is running the payload.

I am assuming he did not add the updated changes to fix resume from rest based on one of this replies on that post:

I don't know yet.

Don't really understand how he does not know if it would address it.

All he has done is add the webkit and kernel exploit data for firmware versions 4.74 and 5.01 to specters original 5.05 exploit. (which is a good thing, if it works...)

The massive problem with it is that only the webkit and kernel exploit are in place for 4.74 and 5.01.
The HEN exploit it uses is currently only for 5.05 .

If you run it on 4.74 or 5.01 it might run the webkit and patch the kernel OK but HEN would not load because it is the 5.05 only HEN.

Some other problems with it are that it will not work again if you used HEN+VR or another FW spoofer.
Also it will not work if you are on FW 5.07.(even though the 5.05 exploit is compatable with 5.07)

I've fixed the 5.07 problem and I've fixed the incompatability with spoofing.
I can also make it load 4.74 HEN if you are on 4.74 and 5.05 hen if you are on 5.05.

I just need to find out if the 4.74, 5.01 and 5.07 detection and loading parts actually work.

Dont get me wrong. I am in no way dissing the work he has done, I just don't understand why he has done certain things the way he has.
If it does work, it is a great building block to work from to make a multi FW compatable exploit.

Seems like someone noticed, look at March 11 ...

I didn't test it myself, has anyone here tested it?
yeah, I was involved in testing those.
Still no luck unfortunately:sad:

"A fix" is always good, but does this specifically fix rest mode? :)
I think the 'fix' mentioned there was just related to the 4.74 payloads on that occasion, nothing to do with rest mode.

It was said that you had tested the PSHEN 2.0 release from SiSTR0. Is REST mode truly fixed? *hopeful!*
