overclocking

yup.. already noted..

Sys-clk, a per-application Switch clock speed control sysmodule
nx-creport redirects crash report to SD card.

so I guess we know what to ask SX OS for next. Once we have those.. well to be honest there's not much else I can think of.. sure a built in media player maybe? but ehh.. almost everyone has a phone, tablet or laptop.. and there's always the stand alone media player app.

I mean if you really want extraneous apps to randomise your themes, announce what you're doing on discord etc.. but meh imo.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

+1 here for overclocking. Games truly looks great with OC. That's indeed long-awaited module.

is it really going to make a huge difference on the majority of games which are already optised and should be running at 30 or 60fps? are there any examples of benchmarks with the overclocking module?

I've asked many times and no one has listed what exclusive KIPs they run on atmos.

SX OS has built in FTP server, stealth mode and LANplay.

what other KIPs are there?
There are ones like: SlideNX (the ability to change joycon noise when you slide it off), Discordpresence (connects to your discord account via a PC to display what you're are playing), sys-cheatnet (the alternative to SX OS cheat engine until Atmosphere's cheat engine came out) and more.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Also last time I checked. There are alternatives on Atmosphere. There are several FTP clients for Atmosphere, 90DNS can replace stealth mode (since stealth mode itself is just a DNS server) and LAN play is available for all CFW's. So I don't get what you're getting at there.

Thanks for the summary. KIP support is brought up all the time with atmos, so I was curious what the big deal was.. the KIPs I knew about have similar / identical features on SX OS so want to explore what are the features SX OS owners are actually missing out on. Which I guess would then be features we could request that TX implement in future beta / stable versions.

I'm not a big theme / modder so the cosmetic stuff to mod themes and sounds doesn't interest me at all.. the creport and sysclk modules I can see potential use for though.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Heavily raises resolution in f.e. Xenoblade and Wolfenstein. Seems enough for me.
Also, it's a good thing to be able to overclock system on your desire.

good, practical examples.. thanks. But I do tend to play games like that in docked mode.. when I'm on the move I tend to stick to ''lighter'' jump in, jump out games as I don't have a long train trip etc. So it's just during coffee break at work etc.

so what does @garyopa means when he said: This 'homebrew' allows you to quickly reload your Switch CFW without using a dongle or PC.

It means, lets say you change your home menu theme it wont take effect until the switch is rebooted, so you use this instead of using the payload injector

think of it as warmboot if you already have cfw

what's the use of this? if sxos crashes you can't reboot sxos with this right? why would you want to reboot for no reason?
edit: answered above.

the fatal crashing and reboot to payload is currently bugged from what I've seen talked about in discord. this will hopefully be fixed so you can reboot to cfw upon a fatal crash

Bundled KIPs are fatal (custom crash screen), a creport reimplementation (stops error logs going to Nintendo, which is basically a catch-all for being undedected for non-piracy/non-cheating homebrew), dmnt (cheat engine) from the top of my head.

It also can load any other KIP, which means that for the LANplay, you can just load ldn_mitm and for FTP server you can use ftpd. Stealth mode is pretty much replacable by 90DNS.

dmnt (cheat engine)
dmnt does run the cheat engine, but it's also going to be for debugging once that's implemented (I'd assume it stands for debug monitor) - gdb stub, background USB file transfer, who knows what other fun stuff. I'm gonna hazard a guess and say TX won't be stealing this one, because it would be instantly useful for cracking their shit :rofl2:

I might be late to this fantastic news but another great accomplishment for all Team-Xecuter fans.
My day is going great and with this news its easier than ever for me to reboot into TX, can't wait till the dongleless revolution arrives!

Why don't they just fucking build it into the sx os menu?
This was made by the WAIN team. They can made additional homebrew apps for sx os but they cannot implement features to the sx os menu. Maybe the core sxos devs will implement it to the sx os menu and add it to the fatal screen in future updates.
