Hi. I apologize if this is the wrong forum for questions. I was curious about Retroarch and overclocking, so I decided to switch from the newest SXOS to Atmosphere so I could play around with it. Everything went smoothly. I added the files to my sd, connected to PC, Ran TegraRCMGui to inject the fuseee payload, and it boots to atmosphere fine. I downloaded and installed the sig patches, overwrote anything on my SD with the downloaded files.

Now I'm familiar with tinfoil and goldleaf already, but here, I'm unable to install nsp files. On goldleaf I get a system error that requires a reboot when installing the retroarch nsp. I've dumped my keys by injecting lockpickrcm and creating a keys.txt file for tinfoil. But tinfoil still gives me an error upon opening.. it says incorrect hash key07. So I assume that has to do with being on 7.0.1 and the key.

Again, I apologize if this is the wrong forum or if this discussion is even allowed, I'm never sure of what exactly is legal or what the line is here. I was just wondering if I was just missing something? Or if anyone knew what I'm doing wrong here?

Only the Goldleaf 0.5 nightlies can install nsp's on 7.0.1, or you can do over USB install, both tinfoil and goldleaf installations over usb are working.

Were you using v0.4 Goldleaf or a v0.5 nightly build?
v0.4 is known to be pretty buggy, folks generally recommend grabbing a nightly if you're on 7.0.X.

Only the Goldleaf 0.5 nightlies can install nsp's on 7.0.1, or you can do over USB install, both tinfoil and goldleaf installations over usb are working.

I'm using the latest goldleaf nightly, so I think that would be 0.5? I'm going to check out doing a USB install and seeing how that goes. Thank you for the replies and suggestions!

No dice. I discovered my gold leaf install is 0.4 and can’t seem to find a 0.5 build. Even the latest nightly like 3/17 shows as 0.4. So Gold tree couldn’t recognize gold leaf being ran on my switch. Tried two different USB C cords. But the program refused to see it. I ended up booting to SXOS to install the nsp and then back to Atmosphere to run it and it works great.

Any idea what my goldleaf and goldtree issue is though? Or where I could find a 0.5 release? I’d like to be able to do all of this on Atmosphere if possible. Thanks again for all the help!

The latest nightly should definitely be saying v0.5, not v0.4.

I'll see if i can't build the latest commit real quick.

Edit:
Built from latest commit of Goldleaf (b087ead).

You can try using Goldleaf 0.3. I heard some users say 0.3 is also working for them. (Though haven't tried it myself).

So 0.5 does allow me to install nsps while on atmosphere. Still no USB connection between it and the packaged gold tree though. And gold leaf will crash when I press home, so it’s looking like 1. Install nsp. 2. Crash when exiting 3. Reboot and everything works.

That’ll work for now I guess? Appreciate all the help!

Have you installed the USB drivers for the switch using zdiag?

  • Download Zadig: https://zadig.akeo.ie/
  • Open TinFoil. Set 'Title Management' -> 'Usb install NSP'
  • Connect NS to PC
  • Open Zadig
  • Click 'Options' and select 'List All Devices'
  • Select NS in dropdown, select 'libusbK (v3.0.7.0)' (version may vary), click 'Install WCID Driver'

Yeah! I did that too. I downloaded zadig, show all devices, select switch, select libusbK and install WCID driver. I go to goldleaf on the switch. USB installation. Open up goldtree.. On the switch it says Waiting for USB connection.. and on my PC Goldtree says waiting for connection.

But the PC recognizes the switch. It shows up on the list in zadig.. And it makes the connection sound on my PC when connected.. and charges.. on both of my USB C cords.. So I'm not real sure where I'm going wrong now lol.

----- EDIT

So I close out of this and go back to my switch and it recognized the USB connection. Gold tree worked correctly. HOWEVER, it will send the nsp over, but gold leaf will lock up during install.. like nca 3/6 on one that I tried. Only option is to press home. Atmosphere crash.. and reboot. THe halfway installed nsp on the dash with a loading sign on it lol.

By chance did your NSP have a long filename?
I've had issues in the past trying to install over USB (and SD) when they had a long filename.

Yeah it did. I've actually had the problem before with it just "failing" on SXOS with a long file name. So I tried that just a second ago, shortened it to three or four letters and the install still locked up in the same place. Lol. Can't seem to do anything without encountering another issue.

Edit: Just tried another one. Failed at 3/7 nca. Not a big deal though. I'll just drop the nsps on the system and do it on SXOS or something. I know this stuff isn't guaranteed to work. Thanks for all the help everyone.
