I dont get it.
Why the big deal to see if a key is hidden or not.
As long as SXOS works on the latest firmware im happy.
I dont care how it works as long as it does.

You however don't take a legal risk. GBAtemp does if it's linked with illegal code. It's already got a ton of illegal code in it, so it's up to the Admins to decide if it's should be allowed back once they removed the keys or not.

Nice. Good to see most bugs have been ironed out. I've updated to SX 2.6.1 but I'm gonna stay on lower firmwares on my sys/emunand until I'm forced to upgrade.

Having the ability in both Atmosphere and SX OS to use homebrew to reboot to a payload all but eliminates the need for jigs/autoRCM anymore.

Guys,

i have several question regarding my Switch with currently 6.2 + internal Trinket M0 + SX OS 2.5.3 NO Emunand.
Now that SX OS added 7.0.x compatibility i am thinking of doing an upgrade.
So here are my questions:

  • Is it worth to enable Emunand? (Is'nt there to much storage lost?)
I dont care about online play.
Would this be possible also with an "dirty" sysnand as it is now (XCIs loaded & NSPs installed)?
Is it possible without loosing any data (NSPs save states)?

  • Could i'll upgrade to 7.0.1 with ChoiDujourNX and use 2.6.1 beta without any issues?

So much questions.

thx

You will lose +- 32gb.
The only reason for EmuNAND that I can is the ability to safely play online on SysNAND, without the need to restore your NAND backup.
Yes.

Why lose 32GB when you can install game to the available space on the system of Emunand? Say 25GB or so.

That's a bummer.
I was hoping we'd be able to install to the emuNand "internal" storage when atmo got it.
He asked for sx os. And you are able to install to the user partition normally.
I hope and will probably suggest to sciresm, to give us option for custom user partition size.

You're able to install NSP on Emunand. You won't lose any bytes as Emunand can be considered as nand backup.

I second this.

But ideal case for me would be, resize User partition to 5 GB (just only keep several games update).
So emunand should be around 8GB in total. And it saves more time to copy over a new Emunand backup back to micro sd.
I have not researched how to do this yet.

If anyone has information regarding this, please help putting in the article/url/etc...
Thanks.

Thanks for your answers.
One thing isnt unclear to me, when i will go Emunand (which is a copy of sysnand).
How could ill get sysnand clean (nsps...), so BigN can't ban me when i want to go online?
Until now i always have used: Stealth Mode of SX OS + private DNS server with blocked BigN sites.

Thanks

Atmosphere users say there is no way to claim clean sysnand back (if you didn't have nand backup before) but in my experiences as a SX user, factory restore settings will wipe out all the system saves unless you had an account that linked to the Switch before hand. But it's okay to delete all system save in SYSTEM partition manually by using HacDiskMount except the 80...120 for the system to enter to the initial setup. Hope this will help you out

Restore clean NAND backup or recreate your NAND. But that's only truly safe, if you never sent any error reports.

Umm... because of that "only reason"? Some of us are not banned and we want to keep it that way as long as possible, if not forever. I don't want to have to search warez sites for game updates, but I do want to install RA cores (channels) onto my home menu. I will not go online running a CFW or with homebrew installed on the system. Emunand lets people do this. Right or wrong, it's peace of mind for those of use who aren't banned yet.

When you create emunand everything is duplicated from sysnand, user profiles, installed games ...
