Been running my ‘hack’ across 3 different users for a few days now with no issues.

Encountered a few teething problems in setting up the dat files which required me to figure what the actual conditions were for a menu rescramble, as well as the sheer amount of time taken to get the end result dat for each user as required.

Hex editing the Barista file seems fairly resilient to bricking but I’m not responsible if you go down this route of modifying storage_mlc located files.
I had occasions where setting up a new user, modding the associated dat and accessing it led to a frozen unit emitting a high pitched tone in objection to something I’d done.

Anyway, now the task is finished, this thread can die a slow death once more as I’m sure no one else is bothered adding access to all the 100s of WiiU shovelware titles out there.

Love this hack..
For the collectors it’s awesome.
Now have 7 different users to cover various console injections that don’t fit well with retroarch (n64/ps1).
For example, one user has access to 300 gamecube titles direct from the menu with gamepad support.
Simply switch to another user if want to check out the n64 inject library for example.
No longer is 300 any kind of limit, the only issue now is my 2TB is almost filled.
As i’ve said though, this is really only for the collectors/kleptomaniacs who want the ultimate setup.

Of course you could do similar via title access via the respective home-brew but afaik this limits the titles to either
being stored on SD or having to be accessed via USB loaders. Kicking off anything directly via the main menu is nice.
Not only that but you can free up a lot of space on your SD dumping stuff off to the WiiU drive.

Hello. Your method is awesome!
But as I'm a noob without much experience with hex-editors or programming, I won't be able to replicate this. And you can't just share your home screen layout with others, right? Is there any chance for noobs like me to get this working (now or in the future), with a safe and simple method?
Playing VC inject backups on the gamepad is a dream come true for me. But there are too many titles...

Easiest method is to install exactly 300 titles to one user then make a copy of this file.
Create a new user then copy this file to that user.
Then edit the title ids in the second users barista file to point to different titles stored on your hdd that aren’t currently displayed.
To keep things simple and avoid resorts always make sure the barista has entries for 300 titles exactly

The following link is essential to learn how to edit the file

Oh one other really important thing. keep at least one icon coomon to all users, keep it located in the same place (screen number and position) and always make sure before switching users you leave the cursor on this icon. This will help prevent the last ID launched field corrupting in the barista file.

snoofly what hex editor you use??
I try other simple method for my intention (filter games by user to user only can access to games I selected.... but I cant do this)
I format the wii U and make the three users I need (clean users without any game/injection)..
and I backup the three barista (clean) files and install the games I need on first user.... (and wiiu make this installation for all users) my intention is wii u only show the first injection on the first user for this reason I copy the barista (clean) file for the other users (two & three)..... But I cant! when I run second user wiiu send me error and need restart the wiiu.... and when I restart barista file is rebuild and have all games on all users.... what can I do??? you have any idea?? thanks snoofly!!

i used hexedit i think. any editor that enables you to overwrite hex values will do.
create 3 users.
install exactly 300 games to hdd
copy the barista file to all users
check all three users show the exact same menu layout
install one more game to hdd, from now on you’ll always get the nag screen but just click past it
check no user shows this game
then overwrite one of the title ids in the second users barista file with the 301st installed game and ftp it over to the correct location
(try not to use any folders as it makes it easier to edit the file, you can setup folders once you’ve installed everything)
whilst having your icon selected on a common app on first user i normally use the homebrew launcher, switch to the second user and check this new game shows
on second user put icon on homebrew launcher again then switch back to user 1 and check all is as before
repeat this after loading up another bunch of titles to the hdd
just make sure you edit the correct title ids exactly, any mistake will likely cause the whole barista file to screw up or the wii u to freeze with a constant beep

sorry it maybe like 285 or so games you can install as some titles are prepopulated like h&s, disc, wii menu etc.
try installing until you hit the nag, then delete until the nag disappears, then you’ll know you have a perfect barista with exactly 300 titles that you can use as your starting template for all the other users. that is the key starting point. back up this file nice and safe

@snoofly my intention is filter the games display on users to display only the games I selected by user (only this user can shows and run.... no for all users only for one user) no try to load more than 300games by user.... only need filter the games by user...
I think If I can lock the state of barista file using "ftpiiu everywhere" (or any other app) to wiiu can't update them??? (my intention is "simple" I try to lock the barista file of second user and free the one, and install the selected games of user one, to only user one access to this selected games for player one, and later block the barista file of player one and free the barista file of player two, to install the selected games of player two, and this only can be access with user two.... and I got my filtered games for any users! :) ) you think it's possible?? Thanks!

I don't think you can lock the file in sense of file permissions preventing wiiu updating it once you have it setup as you wish.
If you have more than 300 titles installed on the HDD, the wii u will display 300 with the nag on any user
which is why what I do is create junk folders and stick all the stuff that is duplicated/on other users in those junk folders)
