The Pokémon series is undoubtably popular, especially so on mobile platforms, according to some new data from Sensor Tower. The info-tracking site has revealed that players have spent a whopping 2.5 billion dollars on purchases in various Pokémon mobile games. This data is pulled from six apps: Pokémon Duel, Pokémon Quest, Pokémon TCG Online, Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, Pokemon: Magikarp Jump, and of course, the most popular of the bunch, Pokémon Go. A majority of the amount spent, $2.45 billion, comes from the aforementioned title, with Pokémon Shuffle Mobile ranking in at second place, by pulling around $25 million. Total app downloads for the series have reached almost 640 million throughout the past five years. Sensor Tower’s report also shows that players in the United States spent the most, 35%, with Japan trailing close behind, comprising 29% of the total.

That means about 30% of total revenue also goes to both apple store and Google play....

This is incredible!

niantic or nintendo or the pokemon company whoever is in charge of that stuff really needs to implement another way to get paid so they can keep all their profits like login to pokemongo.com and have account and item management there with a subscription service that has either more items than the ingame boxes or an exclusive item that you can't get through the appstore.

nintendo might as well just do it right now and go full mobile. they already failed with the switch with it's nothing but ports and nindies. and it only took 2 years to full hack it wide open and it's laughable online service that only offers two shitty nes games a month

Well I would prefer if they invest more money in the Core series (happily awaiting Sword and Shiled) but well whatever.

There's no fail in that. All their games still sold millions of copies on the Switch.

Honestly i would like to know how they counted Pokemon TCG there, considering that it's a port from PC and their microtransaction are available mostly as booster codes available in physical pokemon tcg products.

What the hell are you smoking? You should really stop smoking mescaline so much, just my advice. You think the Switch failed? Didn't know 35,000,000 sales in two years was a failure :rofl: I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you on that opinion.

Your claims are the total opposite of the facts, the Nintendo Switch has been wildly successful, and it took considerably less than 2 years for it to be hacked, but they solved that issue going forward (just glad I got mine early enough to take advantage of homebrew). Their online is weak as always though, but Nintendo knows they can get away with it.
