You know, we can just reboot to payload right? what usb c cable? We are dongless. And we can boot into anything we want after words. Especially if other payloads support back to hekate. We have the opportunity to use the cable once, and never need it again for anything. You got your fancy dongle, and I have my no need for cord or dongle setup (except on a completely fresh forced power off). We can crash the switch and reboot to payload. We can restart and go back to payload. and we can boot a payload from another payload... Just saying. Who said we have to keep a usb C on us?

If you power off your console, it won't boot to payload.

Well... Mine's yes because the modchip.

really, what happens when you want to take your SD card out or power it off ?

It should be stressed that the console will not autoboot into CFW after it gets shut down and, of course, you can only make use of this function if you're already running Atmosphère. So like last time, while it's nice that the need to keep a RCM injector with you at all times gets smaller with each commit, you shouldn't say goodbye to your dongles and jigs just yet as this isn't a substitute for a proper warmboot exploit.
Welp, I've tried to avoid this thread as much as possible for obvious reasons, but considering I got quoted here now I might aswell reply.

That line right there was underlying how the reboot to payload function is not a warmboot exploit nor a substitute to RCM injectors, as in it helps if your console crashes or gets rebooted but it will not help if the battery runs out or the console gets shut down as you'll still need a payload injector (and jig if you don't have AutoRCM) to boot into CFW. It doesn't regard microSD cards at all and they never even got mentioned in the article once.

That aside, I haven't tried it myself as I use a 256GB microSD card in my Switch, but while swapping cards at boot does not work with fusee-primary, it reportedly does with Hekate.

Now if you excuse me, I'll go back again and pretend this thread doesn't exist.

Use SX Installer (not the album installer) or Goldleaf to install nsp's. SX Installer ignores fw version automatically, and with Goldleaf I believe you have to select the option, can't remember since I've only used it once and normally use SX Installer. Both of those options have USB installation as well which allows you to directly install nsp's from a hard drive which eliminates the annoyance of having to clear double the space on your micro sd before installation if your card is almost full (for the nsp file and installation).

Hmm. I see. Thanks, I'll give that a try. I'm going to assume that the SX Installer thing is basically a homebrew app and it'll be fairly self explanatory to utilize when I go to fiddle with it.

You can't use 7.0.x with SX OS.

This is correct. I personally just updated my sysnand as normal - booting into sxos emunand on 6.2 still works w/o issue.
Hi mrjoshuaco, do you have guide or help me? Should i back up my sysnand and emuland before update? What kind of update you using? Can i update by system update?

Since SysNAND should be clean if you don’t use homebrew there, you can update it from the system settings.

I have homebrew file .nsp but do not install and use anything in homebrew, does it means sysnand clean?

thank you RattletraPM for some solid information / clarification - something missing from 99% of all threads in GBAtemp imo.

You are far, far too stupid to ‘correct’ anything. Leave this site. Go away.

then please tell me what I have wrong in my cleaning up of your biased and incorrect posting on the pros and cons of free CFW vs SX OS?

So if I have an unmodded Switch on 7.0.1, eventually I can mod it with SX OS?
