After this month's earlier Nintendo Direct, it appears that we'll be getting an extra bonus in the form of a Pokemon Direct. There will be a seven minute broadcast that will likely discuss the future of the Pokemon series. You can tune in tomorrow at 14:00 GMT / 6 am PT. After being incredibly skeptical about Pokemon let's go, I can honestly say that I actually really enjoyed it. It's missing a lot of elements of what makes Pokemon great, but for people that are new to the series, I think it's a fantastic starting point. I would love to see the different generations as DLC in the future.

That being said, I really hope they go back to the old style for this new title. I do think that there are some things that Pokemon let's go brought to the table that would be great to see in the new title, such as being able to carry all of your Pokemon with you and being able to see the Pokemon on the overworld, but I really hope they go back to normal battles and catching. And bring back abilities, held items, etc

So the assumption is that there should be a better pokémon game (for hardcore gamers) than the actual one?
Anyway 7 minutes seems plenty to anounce and showcase an all new title no?

Not even Let's Go's gameplay could ruin Johto, so bring it on!

I don't mind the gameplay, just that it's unbalanced. When you get out trainers to battle, you get out of money, and you get out of Pokéballs...

Either way, I wish they made a Johto expansion to Let's Go, rather than a standalone new game, so you kept your Pokemon.

Surely if past remakes are anything to go by, they wait until the next gen Pokemon game is released and then use that engine for the remake a few years alter?

I dont believe there are any rules set anymore for the way they release games. They have broken it before.

• 2min Pokémon Snap 2 trailer + release directly after the Direct
• 2min Pokémon TCG for NX trailer, full price title with online play and a long long story including a large world to explore and off-card-battle activities related to the world of Pokémon (no ETA)
• 1/2min reveal trailer for new Gen (ETA winter this year)
• 1/2min trailer where Reggie puts of his human skin to reveal he is a actual Pokémon and that the whole world of Pokémon exists in RL and Nintendo now is offering safari travels to that very world accessible by a dimension door somewhere in Japan (first journys start next month)

Maybe also a new PokéPark game if they want to go all-out with Pokémon this year, but a new PokéPark game seems rather unlikely to me

Alter Genesis, as noted by the site you linked, very much sounds like a TCG set name and... not much else.
