Based on content and strings found in the latest update, data exists for plenty of SNES games, not unlike the NES games we currently have.
This heavily supports the idea that SNES games will launch in an update to the online app.

As a small bonus, strings have been found for two other possible emulators, for unknown systems - which could mean more systems for NSO, more Classic Edition consoles, or both.

I saw this on my Twitter feed and it piqued my interest to say the least. If this is indeed true, it'll likely be in an upcoming Direct, but also, I'll no longer dread having to see NES games every week, this is promising :P

Edit: Could "Count" be "Dracula" or "Akumajo Densetsu/Castlevania"? Canoe is definitely odd, and I do remember NOA stating that NERD was developing the emulators for Switch, and they're the same team who worked on the Snes Classic.

...So you paid for a SNES Classic? Because that costs what five or six years of online subscription would.

That doesn't mean what you pay for is worth it to people though, six years equivalent of boring ass NES games? Lol no thank you. Snes games have, IMO, aged much better and have more appeal than NES. But that's just me *shrug*, if Snes games never come to Switch, I'll never pay for NSO.

Lol, one to two NES games a month, wow! What a fantastic way to distribute old games for the twentieth time!

SNES is practically a given though, it's not like it's hard to emulate. And I think it'll only take a month or two before Switch's SNES library is larger than SNES Classic's.

Nah. It is a collector's item. And you can added more SNES games to it. Priceless. This is online and online subscription itself is worthless. They just want your money and they are greedy. When Nintendo Switch died and online ip will be removed then this SNES game online would be died and nonworking. What a waste money. Nah, A SNES classic is worth. :)

It's not a question of whether or not it can be emulated, NERD is at the helm of NES and Snes emulation (supposedly). It's a matter of Nintendo getting off their lazy asses and providing more than NES games via NSO, and until they do, I'm not paying a damn cent for NSO.

Lol it's a Raspberry Pi. I wouldn't call it a collector's item, and it definitely isn't priceless. Original hardware is always better from a collector's point of view. Short of that, might as well just emulate on whatever device(s) you already own.

Every business wants your money. All I'm saying is that you've given them a lot more of your money by buying a SNES Classic than I did by giving them couch change for a year of online.

I didn't ask you to. Just wait for SNES games if that's your big hangup.

It's easier than a Raspberry Pi, no need to buy a power cord, heatsink, 3D printed case, thermal paste, controller, SD card, etc.

I know, I'm just saying it's useless right now, to me.
