In "Missing features/Won't fix" It's written that it's useless as you unlock them progressing in game.

The backup is made in the same directory the save is from. I would say delete your modified one and rename ML3R_00x.sav.bak back to ML3R_00x.sav

Edit:
Added restore option that does this automatically when you use it.
