If you are gonna pay anyway its better to pay the extra money for something you 1 - Know it works. 2 - its the most updated. and more.

They're both based on a cracked 2.4 beta (according to Gary) and I doubt there will be any regular support or updates to it. Best stick with SX OS, if you want to go for the paid solution - this is just not worth it.

If they cracked 2.4 then they will crack future versions.

I would expect this company to continue supporting their products as without updates they will have decreased sales. Its a simple business decision.

People said the same thing about xecuter when they started. The only thing you saw here on gbatemp for months was whiny kids complaining how they would simply take everyones money and run. Well they certianlly took everyones money, but they didn't run and I doubt the cloners will be running and hiding either.

They didn't crack 2.5.2, did they? Or any other version since 2.4. Imo those clones are an attempt on a quick cash grab before it will vanish into meaninglessness

Yes, the product is based upon what was available during the production run, thats how this usually works. You work with a supply chain, they produce it based on what you have at that time, and then when the production run is done and you gauge user demand, then you order another manufacturing run based on what the current version is at that moment.

So expect the next run to have whatever is the latest cracked at that moment.

They could have the distributor ship to them direct, they *could* update everything and then give it back to their distributor...but thats unlikely. It adds costs and these people are here to maximize revenue. They can do so selling 2.4 clones and then upgrade the clones to latest on the next run.

There's the strict possibility that this is a horizontal integration tactic by TX; an attempt to capture a market segment that for some reason rallies against them, and also profit off people who will buy anything but TX to 'stick it to the man'.

I had actually considered that. If they did do this, it was a brilliant move on their part. I doubt it though :P The reason I doubt it is because its based on a 2.4 cracked version, and if this was xecuter rebranding they would ship the latest.

The only people that complained about that are the ones that where too lazy to look up who TX even was and assumed they popped up over night
