'Resident Evil' Netflix TV series reportedly in the works

re.jpg

According to an exclusive Deadline report, Netflix is giving yet another video game series the TV adaptation treatment. This time it will apparently be Resident Evil, which will be produced by Constantin Film, which is behind all six Resident Evil movies beginning in 2002. However, they are still looking for a showrunner for the adaptation.

The report notes that "the drama series will explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus. While the project is in early stages, the series is expected to incorporate all of Resident Evil’s signature elements, including action sequences and “easter eggs.”

While Netflix hasn't confirmed or denied the report, it is not surprising if the company undertakes such an endeavor given that it has already adapted the popular video game series Castlevania and The Witcher is in the works, but the latter is an adaptation of the book rather than the video game.

Would you like to see a Resident Evil TV series?

Netflix has put out some really good stuff and some really really terrible stuff

Their deathnote movie was so bad that I never trust them with this stuff anymore

Here's to hoping they do it justice

Why are there so many video game related movies and series?
Have these companies ran out of ideas?
There is a reason why there is a "best original screenplay" award - and that's because most screenplays are not original

They are almost all derivative

These guys have never had ideas to start with

That's not a good sign... Don't even light the match, knowing you are giving it to a baby that will burn the house down including theirself. ._. Just stop and walk away.

Next question: Why are there so many animes reinterpreted by hollywood?
Battle Angel Alita can only end up in a total disaster...

Why so many animes in general? They are basically all the same. The same stereotypical annoying characters. The same perverted and annoying content.
The same crap storytelling by focusing on things that don't matter.
SOME animes, however, is NOT bad.
Castlevania wasn't bad at all. Akira wasn't bad. MOST of Death Note wasn't bad. etc...
But the many throwaway shows people watch/make these days. Just ZzZzZzZzZ yourself to the back door.

EDIT: Oops. Almost forgot. I do admit the stories usually ARE unique and good. Almost every anime has an awesome idea behind it. Just horribly shown on the screen with all of the stuff mentioned up there.

A proper Resident Evil Series with Wesker at the core , I enjoyed the movies to an extent and was looking forward to an uneasy alliance of Wesker and Alice in Resident Evil 6 Movie what a F***ing Flop a true dissappointment and what about the Story Angie from the second film and everything that happend in the fifth film Bull****.

No thank you Constantin Film , then again maybe Anderson is to blame but he did pull off one and the best videogame movie adaption ever Mortal Kombat.

As for Netflix Castlevania is awesome I really enjoyed that they done good job.
DevilMan Crybaby , is enough to make you cry with disappointment utterly crap.
Hope Devil May Cry turns out as good as Castlevania it is being made by same team.

Heres hoping this Resident Evil Series will actually stick to original Characters Stories and Backgrounds and delve deeper into the events of Raccoon City better yet I would like to see more into the original founders Ashfords , Spencer and Marcus.

i hope we see one B.O.W. in action every time a season starts, like how The Walking Dead starts every season, zombies overwhelming the survivors. That is if it can even make it past the sales pitch to Netflix executive before filming starts.

I am curious, but i'll suspend any opinion until we'll have more information about this project (and maybe a few minutes of actual footage)
