Also I've seen Windows incorrectly report partition type. Have you used Rufus? Give it a try the last time I had a SD card issue formatting with Rufus fixed it.

By working with other systems do you mean other switches?

Partition it using disk management in windows and a usb to microsd adapter
reccomended partition is exFAT

Did you buy the card on Ebay? If so, it's very very likely its a fake. Most of the time this is the case so please check your card with H2testw or Fakeflashtest.

You may have a second partition on the card that messing up the switch's recognition of it.

If you're on Windows, go to Disk Management, select your SD card, and look at how many partitions show up. If you've got more than one, delete them all and start over.

I'm formatting with mac. Tried multiple programs. My mac and my camera recognize the card.

In regular switch it just doesnt see any sd card. And when injecting failed to init SD card.

I'm formatting with mac. Tried multiple programs. My mac and my camera recognize the card.

There is your problem, the switch doesnt play along an SD Card formatted with an MAC. Use bootcamp/Windows PC to format the SD Card and it will work flawless

you can also try this in terminal:

sudo chflags -R arch /Volumes/NAME OF YOUR SD CARD

sudo dot_clean /Volumes/NAME OF YOUR SD Card (remove mac files)

format to ntfs, the switch will ask you to format to its standard (256GB will be exfat). if it still having the same issue > a fake sd I'm afraid of.

Also thought I would ask, have you tried other sd cards to ensure it isn't the SD slot on your switch that is broken. I may have missed you saying you did because I only skimmed this thread
