Dark Souls 1 mod "Daughters of Ash" adds new events, story, and gameplay mechanics
Though Dark Souls Remastered released last year and was called the "definitive" way to play, a team of modders had been loyally working on the original release of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition all throughout 2017 and 2018 to create their ideal version of the first game. Over 1000 hours of development was put into Dark Souls: Daughter of Ash, an expansive modpack that overhauls the game to add a multitude of new features, weapons, items, lore, and secrets. According to Grimrukh, one of the creators of the mod, this is what they imagine what Dark Souls 1 would have been, if FromSoftware had more time to develop the game. You can grab the modpack, which is currently at version 1.8, below at NexusMods. For those that prefer Dark Souls: Remastered, there are plans to release a version of the modpack for that version as well, later this year.
