Hi nexusmtz,
So if I add the CFW and download the dlc of the game and install it through the WUP loader it will be permanent or do I need to uninstall and install everything from scratch?
Edit: I added the dlc and the countdown is not there anymore. Can I suppose that it worked??

Does anyone knows if I can use an SD card attached to a usb uatd reader instead of a hard drive to load my games?
I am using a Samsung Evo plus 128 GB SD card with a card reader and while Wii U sees the device and I formatted the card normally, I also installed a few games in it and I can see them in my main screen, when I launch any of them after 2-3 minuets the game stops and I get an error message the USB storage device has been disconnected and that I need to contact the support of my usb device etc.
Now the thing is that I am not sure if the card itself is the problem or if the usb uard reader I use is just shitty because it is a usb hub basically with one spot for an SD card ...
Does anyone has similar experience about this?

Do not use an SD card connected to the USB, it will not work or will not work.
Prefer an external hard drive with a cable in Y preferably, and you will see the difference compared to an SD card that it will work much better with your external hard drive.
USB keys often give a black screen or your game does not start.

Jeannotte is correct, those types of devices simply weren’t made to be used with the console. While providing more power to the adapter may fix it, it really is best to just get a cheap external HHD on eBay. Also, I’m not sure if this would apply to SD cards as well, but I’ve heard stories of people’s USB flash drives overheating while using them with a Wii U. Obviously this isn’t a smart idea in the first place, but there could be a small chance that the card or adapter is becoming too warm, hence causing the issue you’re experiencing.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed, if so I apologize. I followed all steps. Only problem I run in to is using Wii U USB Helper. When I try to download a title, such as Mario Kart 8 WiiU , 0 progress occurs. Then after a few seconds, it says download complete. Am I doing something wrong?
Did you use the reddit workaround with the launcher to get Wii U USB Helper to work? Otherwise it won't work.
Yes I used work around and have titlekeys link working. Titles load, but when I try to download nothing happens. Ive tried using utikdownloadhelper and that works. But some reason Wii U USB Helper will download titles.

Delete everything in the Wii U USB Helper folder and start again from scratch with the reddit workaround.
Does WiiU USB Helper still work? I had it set up according to the reddit, but always received a time-out error. Thought I read that the Nintendo servers were now blocking direct downloads.
Also, I've been getting Loadiine zips of games off the web. Can I still use USB Helper to install them? New to installing them on my own and don't want to brick my system.

It's only 3DS that doesn't work Wii U games work with the reddit workaround. Some other reason you're getting a timeout unfortunately I'm not sure why.
I've never heard of using USB Helper to install Loadiine games, but you just put them on your sd card in wiiu/games and have Loadiine on your sd card too, and then use Haxchi on your Wii U to get to it simple as that. (you must purchase a ds game to use Haxchi, if you haven't already) You won't brick your system even if you put them in the wrong place because you don't install Loadiine games.
But if you're not aware these are two different formats. Getting games off usb helper = must be installed to a USB or Wii U internal hard drive through Wup installer. Which is different format than Loadiine, Loadiine games must be installed to sd card.

Could be, I didn't even realize that was an option on USB Helper I just was paying attention to getting games for USB loading.
I'm pretty sure it is, iirc. I used that feature when I had to put mods on Smash 4 (before I sold my Wii U) because the modding program for it required you to have the original files unpacked. It would have been pretty neat to have that feature back when Loadiine was the only way to run backups.
@JustinCredible Ah okay, I did not know that loadiine was SD, thank you for the explanation. I have a 2TB HDD and 64gb SD card that I have my legit games on.
@jeannotte I had it working as of August. Maybe I was getting the 3DS version error message and thought that both weren't working. I will have to try it again when I get home, thanks. Will also check to see if loadiine install was real or if that's another thing I misremembered from August.

I have CBHC and 8 gb usb stick. 8 gb is not enough for many games so I want a new drive. Are USB sticks good enough for games or I need external hdd?
