Do you know how reading comprehension works? He is saying it wouldn't be possible to run Wii U games via emulation so that's why Wii U games would have to come via port or remaster.

I don't see how a reasoned person could think he was conflating emulation with porting.

Congratulations on getting a job.

Yes, that's correct. I'm not stupid to know about difference between emulation and port.

That is one reason that I usually ignore anyone's reply if not consistent with my statement and it wasn't first time that I was trolled, so been around for 18 years.

Merry Christmas to all, anyway.

A camera would be necessary, since today all portable devices such as smartphones and laptops, have an integrated camera to take pictures, make video calls, video chat and more things that the cameras of these devices do, apart from having a microphone to record notes of voice, talk with person on Skye or Internet, etc.

Switch is among those devices, but Nintendo, instead of integrating it into Switch, did not want to intergrate the camera, which made it worse.

in the 3DS, it was not a waste, it simply served in games like Face Raiders, which increased the realism of the games.

Also, I know you will have an integrated microphone to play Let's Sing 2019 and Fornite to do a voice chat, you no longer need the usual wireless microphone to play that game or the headphones to do a voice chat in Fornite.

Also, forget to mention that they will add a better battery.

the best things with a camera and a microphone :-)
I wonder why you phrase stuff like this is already confirmed - new Switch with camera, 256gb memory, double the graphics power... when this is just your weird-ass daydreaming. Gtfo, really. Waste of space in this community

It's impossible... Unless the new hardware revision comes with an 8k camera. If that's the case we could theoretically emulate an xbox one x or even a fancy toaster.

I will specify your technical specifications for the revision that will come to light in 2019:

1. RAM: Obviously, to emulate the Wii U you need more than 4 GB, 8 GB for review.

2. GPU: maybe they could have the NVIDIA TEGRA 5, but maybe they put a current RADEON GPU for the revision.

3. CPU: an AMD Sempron like the one used by my PC for the revision.

4. Internal storage, 256 GB of internal storage for review.

5. New hardware: a camera to take photos, create Miis based on facial photos and read QR codes for the review.

6. Resolution in Portable Mode: 720p in portable mode for review.

7 and finally: Resolution in TV mode: 4K in TV mode for the review.
This is pretty much completely BS
2&3 AMD doesn't have any tablet form factor stuff afaik, Nintendo currently has a partnership with nvidia, and the CPU you mentioned is an x86 CPU (Switch has an ARMv8 cpu)
4. that would cost too much
5. I mean, they could. But why would they, there's literally no reason to do so ._.
7. No.

Not happening. The WiiU was actually a very well powered console. Maybe if the CPU's were the same, it's be different, but with the architecture difference between the two, it's just straight up not happening.

GameCube and Wii, yeah, we're already seeing that work out very well, but the WiiU is just too high end for the switch to emulate.

No. It can probably emulate Wii and GameCube though if you overclock the CPU. It can probably handle PS2, PSP, and Dreamcast as well. Nothing beyond the GameCube generation (except PSP and Wii which are basically part of that spec wise).

I'm not even gonna read the rest of the thread, I'm just gonna respond the the initial question.

PSP-yes, dreamcast-maybe, PS2? Really? Have you looked at the hell PS2 emulation went through on PC? Might as well emulate the OG Xbox on the switch.

OP means Wii U, not Wii.

It is impossible for Wii U emulator to run on Switch, so that why many Wii U games likely to be ported or remastered.

It apparently that some members misread my post so I'm going to clarify, also my English isn't top notch because I grew up in Deaf education, so no doubt that most members didn't realize because they didn't or rarely meet in anywhere even deaf people didn't sign language at all aren't counted.

I have been involved in hacking of video game for almost 20 years, especially hacking in Pokemon Blue version and played NES/SNES emulator on PC. I do know about difference between emulation and porting, so emulator is software based and porting is based on new code to run on new hardware, such as Switch. I said - it is impossible to make Wii U emulator on Switch due to similar performance between two, so it will be result in super low FPS like many said above. That why Wii U games tend to be ported to Switch, such as Pokken DX, DKC Tropical Freeze, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Captain Toad Treasure Hunt used Switch code to run on Switch. That what I means above.

If you ask me if it is possible to run Wii emulator (not U) on Switch, so I said YES, but entirely depends on emulation development and games, so it will be buggy with low to mediocre FPS at first time but possibly get better in later Switch lifespan, however one Wii game has ported to Switch - Vacation Go and used Switch code, but I see them as remaster because Vacation Go was 480i/480p and blurry texture, so developer upped the graphic setting and put high resolution texture in to make looks like HD version.

I hopefully y'all understand and if you didn't, so ask me first. I don't take misread lightly because of associated with trolling on FB and Youtube, so that why I rarely post in public comments on both platform.

This is why I suggest to people that, if they want to get out of the lazy "just port the previous generation game to the new hardware, bump the framerate up to 60 fps", and ACTUALLY be able to have "BC" with EVERYTHING, you go with a PC, with a GPD WIN 2 on the side if you have to play things in a convenient portable format. Personally, I'd wait for the latter to become more powerful, not because it'll be able to play PS3 games anytime soon, (Can we please get Persona 5 on the Switch ATLUS-sama!? *gets on all fours, and bows with the most humble respect and admiration for the team's hard work*) but so you'll have better future compatibility with everything.

Outside of that, the best "home" emulation solution would be an Nvidia SHIELD...if it wasn't for some new SBCs on the horizon that can run Windows 10 and play Fortnite on Medium settings. I know, it's not the Witcher 3, but I think using the top end games in terms of graphical fidelity is always a bad metric to measure how things will perform.

The fact of the matter is, you can forget about user-developed solutions for anything past the Dreamcast (if even that) on anything outside of Windows, Linux, Mac, (if you were born into wealth or were given a small loan of a million dollars, and the emulator's lucky enough to receive Mac support that's still consistently updated to this day) and Android, especially on ARM-based CPUs as opposed to x86. It just won't be happening for a while, and with the following video, while I want to remain optimistic in the hopes that DC can run on the Switch, you have to be realistic with this kind of shit, you know?
