Yet another report regarding the line of "classic consoles". During an interview with Reggie Fils-Aime, the interviewer asked if any add-ons will be availible for the classic line of consoles. Reggie replied with the following answer:

"There’s no ability for add-on content with our classic consoles, so when you purchase the console it’s coming with that set roster of content. We worked very hard, both for the NES Classic and the SNES Classic, to really have the best games that defined that generation. We’ve said that the current systems are the extent of our classic program. We’ve also been clear that, at least from an Americas perspective, these products are going to be available through the holiday season and once they sell out, they’re gone. And that’s it. The way that consumers will be able to continue participating with our classic content is going to be through Nintendo Switch Online, and we just released three new games (Ninja Gaiden, Wario's Woods and Adventures of Lolo) from the NES generation onto that platform. We look at that as the main way that consumers will be able to experience that legacy content."

When the production will also end in Europe and Japan hasn't been made clear yet, but these might end very soon as well.

Can't someone hack SNES mini to play NES games?
Or a form of SNES rom injection?
That would be awesome.

Guess I'll never own one, then.
They are still too expensive for me to buy. If one was around half the price, I'd consider it, but like this? Nah.
Yeah same. They'll probably be double and triple price around and after the holidays. I was only borderline interested in the SNES one anyway. No big loss I suppose lol.

The emulator is only 80% compatible, I'd personally use a Raspberry Pi 3B or Super NT. More accurate.

Hackchi, yes, you can add more games. Personally, the Snes Classic is best suited with Snes games. NES games are kinda meh IMO.
Yes, most NES games are shovelware or aged terribly, bar some notable exceptions.
For the shizz, I went on to see what the SNES MINI could do, and I can't almost believe it. that thing seems to be quite powerful to handle PSX games.

It can apparently go up to PSX relatively well, but requires USB modification for extra storage. Snes it does fairly well, it's better to use RetroArch for higher compatibility.

Compared to the nes on switch, the games look better than nes classic, when or if snes is added, I hope it's just as good. none of that dark dull dim light colors and rom mods to reduce flashing effects. Just stick a epilepsy warring like most people do. :P

In terms of how the games look is okay, I won't say much else though since there isn't much improvement on anything else. :ninja:

Huh? Snes games look brighter on Snes Classic than on Wii U. What're you talking about? They don't look dark at all.

I never understood the appeal of these systems in the first place, it's just some shitty hardware + decent emulator in a NES/SNES shell and a few ROMs built in.
