Team-Xecuter Presents SX OS v2.4 BETA

It's HERE! - TX Has Finally Done It! - Their SX OS Now Fully Supports v6.2!
SX24.jpg

Everyone been smashing their heads against the wall, and refreshing forums for over two weeks waiting, but no more do you have to wait as SX OS v2.4 is finally available for all Nintendo Switch owners to enjoy, and be able to update to v6.2 finally, its been a long wait, but as you read the change-log below you will quickly see that it was well worth the wait, and there is still more to come soon! :)
We are pleased to let you all know that SX OS v2.4 BETA is ready for release.

First of all, sorry to keep you waiting longer than we initially anticipated. We have been working around the clock to bring you this new release. We want SX OS to be synonymous in your mind with constant quality. We are here to stay and we are here to keep supporting your purchase till end of life.

Now, lets have a look at what v2.4 brings to the table:
  • Support for firmware 6.2.0
Nintendo threw us a small curve-ball while we were in the middle of reworking some other parts of SX OS. That being said, SX OS is now fully compatible with the latest official firmware 6.2.0.
  • EmuNAND functionality reworked
Our initial release of EmuNAND used a storage mechanism that wasn't what a lot of people were looking for. In our last release we decided to switch to using the microSD for EmuNAND storage, which in turn made some users that *did* like the old method of storing EmuNAND on the system NAND unhappy. We have reintroduced the support for EmuNAND-on-system-NAND as well as introduced a third storage method for your EmuNAND partition. You can now also opt to use a separate partition (as opposed to files in the regular (ex)FAT filesystem) as a storage backend for your EmuNAND. With three flavors of EmuNAND storage supported now, all of you can rejoice!

To recap, you now have three way of settings up EmuNAND now:
    • EmuNAND on system NAND: repurpose part of your Switch internal storage for EmuNAND
    • EmuNAND on microSD as partition: repartitions your microSD card with a separate EmuNAND partition
    • EmuNAND on microSD as files: EmuNAND is stored on microSD as files instead of repartitioning
WARNING: Setting up your EmuNAND as partition on your microSD card will format your microSD card. After setup nothing but the boot.dat and license.dat will remain.
  • Homebrew R button interfering with ingame L+R buttons fixed
In the last release we introduced a method of invoking the homebrew launcher for any title by holding down the [R] button during application/game startup, this gives homebrew additional capabilities that it wouldn't normally have. However, this seems to have caused some interference with some games, this has been fixed.
  • Embedded Homebrew Menu
Previously, you had to copy a `hbmenu.nro` file to your microSD card in order to use the homebrew launcher. This has been fully integrated into the SX OS boot.dat file now. Effectively this means all you need for setup is to copy our boot.dat file, simple!
That's all we have for now, people. That doesn't mean we're done. Its not over until we have liberated every single console out there. A lot of our current attention is focused on bringing you a solution for these "unhackable" switches. That does not mean we're not improving SX OS as well. Keep those feature requests and bug reports coming!
Enjoy the festivities this month, and don't forget to pick up a SX Pro / SX OS for your loved ones! :)

Well update SXOS and i lose the games (need to redownload), probably now the emuntendo folder is create and i need to copy the nintendo files into it, so i need to check this first or reinstall the games...

Edit.: Yes, copy the files from Nintendo folder to the new Emuntendo folder and works, on SXOS 2.1 with emunand i no need this folder but now it needed. (and i delete the Nintendo folder and no problem, at least on emunand)

Updated to 6.2, works fine.
Hello, did you just entered in Original firmware and connect to the internet and update from Nintendo servers?
I’m trying to update my switch currently on 6.0.1, but I don’t want to screw up things for me.

Would you mind explaining me how you did it?
Ps. I don’t have an emunand partition, in just using the basic SX pro functions, losing xcis from se card.

Thanks

No, my Switch is super banned. I copied the new SX OS to my card, booted my 6.1 sysnand and installed 6.2 through ChoiDuJourNX

Go to sleep mode while playing a game on HDD and see how it closes because TX thinks that a feature to eject gamecards is cool

Thanks for your response.
What would be your recommendation in my case for updating to 6.2? Would it be worth it?

I’ve been using SX pro for about a month, always in airplane mode. I do not have emunand not any other hombree apps, just purely the SX pro app through the album button where I load my xcis. I’ve never installed a .nsp file.

Thank you,

Well, unless there's games or updates that require 6.2, it's not really worth it now.
There's no game actually requiring 6.2 - I think there's not even a game that requires 6.0 for now. Some updates up the min. requirement to 6.1 or 6.2 or something, but that can be avoided, there's patched update files that work on lower versions, or modified XCI files of games that already include updates (like for Smash, for example - the first update requires the console to be on 6.2, but it was hacked and also boots on 5.1 which is the original fw requirement of the game only).
If you want to be up to date at all the time, you can update now just fine. But you can just as well just hold off until there's an actual need to update, because a game won't boot on a lower firmware than 6.2 anymore - but until that happens, there's probably already 7.0 out ;)

I just updated because I like to be on the latest version. But it's really not necessary. Unless you want to access online services, then you absolutely need to be on latest fw, but with me being banned that's not an option anyway

First of, sleep mode is worthless, you will be banned sooner than late and SX already have a function called "Stealth Mode", which is a DNS server that already does what you want to do with Airplane Mode
And yes, update to 6.2.0, it has new keys that will make that new games and updates won't work on <6.2.0

Just a few more questions i have:
i really don't get the point to use emunand ,
i have a backup from my NAND and my kids only play backups from games (so no messing with homebrew).
And should i update to 6.2? if so, do i have to disable auto rcm first?

Thx

I didn't even realize you could use ChoiDujourNX through sysnand? I assumed you could only launch homebrew on a custom firmware?
You can boot SX OS on SysNAND and then update your SysNAND with ChoiDojourNX to 6.2 Firmware. Go into the TX Menu by holding volume up on start and then disable EmuNAND if you use it and boot the Custom Firmware. Now youre on SysNAND.

Updating with ChoiDojourNX will install AutoRCM while updating, and no, you don't have to disable AutoRCM before
Updating to 6.2.0 worth it since it has new keys that will make new games and updates don't be compatible with <6.2.0
With a backup of your nand you shouldn't worry about emunand

If i'm never planning on playing games online and if I don't care about being banned, is there a point to having emunand enabled?

I currently have it enabled but I'm starting to think I don't need to. Oh and yes I have a nand backup

Yeah it works great but it's the obvious Ds factor you loose from it it's not like playing atari games on atari because Nintendo actually use to give a reason to buy their hardware
