Is it relatively simple to add say another windows 10 Live iso to your collective. Id like to add my copy of gandalf's windows live 10 redstone and windows 7 live to the boot order

Hello Jayro!
I wanted to tell you your toolpack is marvelous, it has helped me in many situations, and I wanted to thank you for it.

However, I've been having a bit of an issue with the latest full Medicat version, since every time I try to boot it, I receive the following message:

"vesamenu.c32: not a COM32R image".

I have already redownloaded the iso from both torrent and Google Drive about thrice, and the MD5 checksum matches so far.

I have also tried redownloading ISOLINUX from Kernel.org, and vesamenu.c32 reports the same hash.

I'm not sure what else could I try to fix it, so any help you might be able to provide will help a lot.

I used Unetbootin to create the drive (No Windows right now), and I'm trying to repair a Toshiba Satellite L455 (No UEFI, only BIOS).

Thanks in advance, I wish you a great day and a nice week start.

@Jayro Hello there, not sure if you had seen the message, as I forgot to mention you, but I figured to try again. I would really appreciate if you could lend us a hand with this issue.

@TheMCNerd2017 , I think we have the same issue, so I figured you'd be interested.

Not a good idea, MediCat needs to be on it's own USB stick.
Thank you :)
If I would like to play and learn a little bit, how could I do a medicat with multiboot. On English speaking sites I only found an installation guides with rufus, but If I try with Yumi, I'm not sure what distro do I have to choose, and why does it even matter?

I'm sorry if I'm being annoying, but I'm curious

Yumi has a MediCat setting. I'd try that, and then go from there adding more.

Sorry, didn't mean to skip over you. I'm not notified about every comment on here. I did some digging, and found that not all BIOS support certain syscalls under Syslinux. So through no fault of your own, MediCat might just be incompatible with your board.

Very odd. So apparently my 2013 Laptop(which is UEFI) is not compatible with certain syscalls under Syslinux? I can open the menus, I just can't choose any diagnostic utilities as they give the usual "not a COM32 image" error.

Not sure if something changed in between, but I'm able to boot Medicat 16.04 from a burned DVD in the same device. Perhaps the different Syslinux versions changed BIOS handling syscalls?

It's very well possible. I made sure v18.10 has the latest version.

@Jayro

All my admiration to your work. Thanks A LOT :)

I'm currently dowloading (via torrent) a 16.9Gb iso where your PNG explaining version is stating an uncompressed size of 15.4Gb. In fine, my goal is to have it on a 16Gb USB stick.

Is the extra 1.5Gb (or, if we are considering compressed version, an extra 6Gb+, which is a lot) a trouble with size reporting, or have you added new things that goes over 16Gb ? Perhaps am i not downloading what matters ?

Not all 16GB USB drives format to the same amount of usable space, so you might need to delete a few ISO images that you might not use from the ISO folder before burning it to a 16GB USB. I didn't intend to make it go over 16GB, it just came out this way. A 32GB flash drive can be had for just a few dollars these days, especially during the holiday seasons and during back-to-school.

Hi, is it possible to run medicat on a multiboot usb, and with which distro?
You can add medicat to an Easy2Boot USB drive.
You can just copy the .ISO file over to the E2B drive (though not all things will work in MiniWindows such as Updating PortableApps, etc.) or you can convert the ISO to a 'flat-file' partition image (similar to Rufus) which also supports UEFI-booting...

You will need a Windows system to make the .imgPTN file.
First you must convert the ISO to a .imgPTN file (add 2GB for extra storage space). You do this by dropping the ISO onto the MPI_FAT32 desktop shortcut after installing the MPI Tool Kit. Choose Syslinux version 603 when prompted.
Then copy the large .imgPTN file to the E2B USB stick and make sure it is contiguous (run \MAKE_THIS_DRIVE_CONTIGUOUS.cmd).
Now you can 'switch-in' the .imgPTN file by selecting it from the E2B menu.
To get parted magic to work, edit the "\pmagic\boot\syslinux\syslinux.cfg" file and change DEFAULT menu.c32 to DEFAULT /menu.c32 or just type [TAB] at the boot: prompt and then run an option - e.g. normal32
I can't seem to get gparted or super grub2 working however....

Hi my friends

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hello friends how are you.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Hello friends how are you. First of all I want to congratulate the creator of such a wonderful tool. The other thing is that I want to comment that when I try to mount the image with the Rufus program in the usb memory, it generates the following error that I attached in the image.
I would like to know why this happens since I downloaded different versions of the rufus program and still keeps on sending this message.

Thanks I am attentive Error medicat.PNG

I think it might not work on Windows 7 anymore.

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with Medicat USB on my Zalman (hard disk which emulates optical drive). I can launch Medicat at the boot, but I can't launch Windows PE or Lubuntu.
For the first one, the following message appears for a short time, then nothing happens:
Loading /boot/grub.exe... OK
Loading kernel failed: Invalid Argument

And for Lubuntu, I get the following message:
No Default or UI configuration directive found!
Boot:

I downloaded the iso a second time to make sure it is correct and in working order, but I get the same issue.
I have no issue with other LiveCDs such as Hiren's Boot (which launches WinPE without any problem) or Acronis True Image.
And the issue occurs on different PC (not only with UEFI).
Do you have any idea where this issue might come from?
