BTW my Luma3DS updated is always firing an error trying to download the latest release info from github and the menu I've got from godmode seems a bit older than the one I've got on the two other 3DS (my children ones) that I hacked yesterday. Maybe godmode is not up to date...
I think this has something to do with TLS v1.2 update that took place on GitHub several months ago that conflicts with many homebrew apps. If you see Luma3DS v9.1 on both SD card and B9S, you're already on the latest stable release.
There are nightly builds of Luma3DS but you need not worry about those unless you intend to use the cheat engine.
How can I re-install luma + godmode ? The console is already with a CFW... can I just follow the same procedure as for installing on a "clean" 3DS ?
I meant "luma updater" at the beginning of first sentence...
For the SD card, you swap in the latest version of
GodMode9 at:
- sdmc:/luma/payloads/GodMode9.firm
- sdmc:/gm9 folder
The same goes for lumaupdater app, everything else, etc. If you're not sure what files go to where, you can rely on the
CFW starter kit mentioned in the above post #2.
That archive was made for the purpose of troubleshooting, recovery, and convenience.
If you wish to update GodMode9 found on the CTRNAND:
- Press (HOME) → Scripts... → GM9Megascript → Scripts from Plailect's Guide → Setup Luma3DS to CTRNAND → etc.
To manually remove payloads you don't want to keep:
- 0:/luma/payloads (SD card)
- 1:/rw/luma/payloads (SysNAND CTRNAND)
Press (X) on any *.firm to delete in either drive (be really careful in SYSNAND CTRNAND), or delete the ones you wan't in
0:/luma/payloads and rerun the CTRNAND script.

Examine if your new setup is clean by referring to this
post.
- Step 6 - Luma3DS configuration settings, I advise not to use ( ) Disable ARM11 exception handlers. Like ever.
- Step 7 - If using the starter kit which includes boot9strap v1.3 *.firm and *.sha files in the boot9strap folder, you can run SafeB9SInstaller without having to second guess what B9S version you have.
- boot9strap resides on CTRNAND and not the SD card. There's a way to clean up your SD card afterwards by:
- GodMode9 ... → Scripts from Plailect's Guide → Cleanup SD card → etc.
- Step 12 - Refers to a video tutorial for Rosalina Menu injection. This feature trips up a lot of first timers when trying to get Homebrew Launcher to work.
Hope that helps!
