Not sure why op even made this thread. Not trying to diss but he is a noob to the scene. Why would he even assume that his idea would work? Does he not realize that if it were that simple there would not be anyone on here complaining about bans? Does he not realize that if it were that simple, one of the talented developers on here would have already released something on the matter? Not sure why a noob would even begin to think he knows something on this subject when he is clearly a NOOB that has not contributed anything to the console hacking scene.

I said I wasn't sure about that, it's just my theory

If the private key is the same in all certs, can't that be figured out by having enough certs to bruteforce aganst? Having the same signature key in every file really isn't a smart way to sign things...

That just means you're not CDN banned. Since the public cannot abuse CDN downloading anymore, there's no purpose in distributing CDN bans anymore. Plus game updates are now blocked behind soft bans.

However you can't download game updates being permanent banned.

The theory is solid, it's the practicality of it that is flawed.

As has already been said Nintendo signs EVERY certificate with their private key which is then verified when you connect to their servers. Without this key we are not able to create anything close to a valid cert. This idea has been discussed before but nothing has come of it and probably never will until the key is obtained.

Can you point me to any research that shows having more certificates would speed up finding the private key.

Having the same signature key in every file really isn't a smart way to sign things...

What advantage do you think they would have if they used more keys?

It's very unlikely even one key will ever be cracked.

I have a foolproof way to unban. Go to your local retail outlet and buy a new Switch. Take it home and unpack it from the retail package. Power it on and set up your Nintendo account. Insert the game cartridge and enjoy. Done!
NO! You buy the Switch, take it home, unpack it, and dump the certs. Then, you take it back for a refund.

The occasional trying out a backup is as far morally corrupt I am willing to go. But go ahead. The feeling of entitlement seems to be all the rage these days anyway so all is fair I guess.

If you have no morals and are a douchebag yeah

It was just a joke. I don't even have a Nintendo Switch, so it's not like I would do that anytime soon. And I agree, it would be wrong to do that.

I already said that
Since everyone is telling OP that it is virtually impossible to create fake certificates (which it is) but not answering the second question...

and while your at it put on your list "Get potentially jailed for retail Fraud"caught something going down that was making a fuss at Customer service at walmart yesterday. someone likely trying that exact same thing they were saying it was way too soon to be returning it, , guy wouldnt leave saying he's in his right to return it whenever. and got escorted out. (i was there getting prescriptions filled and happend to see it unfold passing the area) as at my local store its not that from from the pharmacy in-store)

More places now adays grow real suspicious if your dumb enough to try this.

What prevents us to inject certs from other consoles ?
Console-unique encryption which is fairly simple to defeat but that's not the issue here. Injecting a certificate from another console is fundamentally the same as buying another console. Plus if more than one person is using that certificate, its only a matter of time until its get banned.
