I just ordered an SX PRO today and plan on picking up a Switch over the weekend. I noticed Best Buy has a sh*tload of Switches on the floor a few days ago. What are the chances that any of them are hackable?? Am I too late to try and find one in-store that will work with the SX-PRO? I really don't want to buy used if I can avoid it.

Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

I must be one lucky SOB!! I just left best buy where they have a stack of close to 100 switches and the first one I picked up was XAW10048XXXXXX. That is hackable correct? Well after grabbing that one I picked up 8 others to compare and all of them were just like mine (XAW10048XXXXXX) except for 1 which was XAW1006XXXXXXX). These were just random units i grabbed off the top and that stack is DEEP!

I'm in the Richmond VA area. The Best Buy I went to is in Midlothian VA off of Hull Street. I may have to grab a second one soon. Glad I ordered an SX PRO today. Can't wait to get it.

Those should all be hackable using RCM.

Also protip, if you're expecting to use SXOS don't update it. 6.2 isn't supported yet.

Yep.. I'm new to the Switch scene but have been reading up a bit. I'm aware of the 6.2 issue but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions once I start everything.

There's also no real reason to purchase an SXOS product when Atmosphere is free.

I haven't read into ATMOSPHERE yet. As a CFW does it compare to the SX OS in regards to having a menu that can play any of my backups (any limitations)? I'll read up on that one a bit as well.

Thanks for all the hints/tips guys!!

You can use Atmosphere/Kosmos to install NSP/XCI files and run homebrew.

With the SX Pro dongle, he can just copy and paste the necessary files for Atmosphere CFW and boot the Primary fusee.bin from the SX OS Recovery menu using the pro dongle.
Obviosly if he decided to update to the latest original firmware he would have to boot to Atmosphere from SX OS RCM menu with the pro dongle. It is not a waste of money.

I'm not going to derail this thread with pro or anti-SXOS arguments, but I'm noting for the OP that Atmosphere can do most of the things SXOS can do, and SXOS does not presently support 6.2.0.

Yes i understand. This is not an Atmosphere VS SX OS. What i was saying from the last post is that SX pro users have an alternative (Second) option instead of being in a stand still motion without doing anything.

No worries about "derailing"! :)

I started this thread thinking I might be S.O.L. trying to find a new one that's hackable and feared I'd be running all over town hitting every store possible to find one. I can't stress enough how happy I was to find an apparent "motherload"! I had a printed sheet of the compatible serial numbers and thought I was going to have to dig through that mountain of units to possibly find one! My eyes did a double-take as I kept checking and everyone I touched was in that same range of serial numbers!!

Thanks again everyone!!

Can Atmosphere run an Emunand? Load/install games from USB drives, is update-able from within itself, Use XCI games so there's no need to install them?

SXOS costs a small amount of money - but with the extra things it gives you, compared to other CFW - it's well worth money to buy it. Install it once, no need to mess about, and get regular updates and features. You can also use Atmosphere at the same time, and have the best of both worlds. However don't go online with CFW. So even though Atmosphere supports 6.2.0 - you can't play online with that. It's only useful for idiots that updated their OFW to 6.2.0 and have no other way to run CFW.

Best bet is to use SX OS - First make an emunand in 6.1.0 (exfat), and if you really need to play only - update you sys nand and use that for online, and use emunand offline for nsp installs and xci loading.

How to buy a switch and know right away it's hackable? Search Ebay for switch Tablets that are version 4.1.0 or below (Check the sellers descriptions)
If you see a nintendo switch that has been "Refurbished" with no explanations, do not buy as most of these units are already patched units.
