why not just google "sonic the hedgehog 3 and Knuckles" rom and run it within an emulator?
Why WOULD I download MD.emu?
Yes its kinda possible, you could extract the apk, but you will need a little bit of code edit, however, is there a reason why you want to inject the rom into the apk, instead of load the rom normally?
By that do you mean going inside a hex editor and editing out the rom and replacing it with an S3&K one? Come to think of it, maybe I could use a HEX editor to remove advertisements!

you mean to remove the ads? removing ads its a simple process, you can use Lucky Patcher to create a modified app, or modified the current app, 0 issues.

I tried that on Sonic 2, but it didn't work.

installed this in my raspberry, no more advertisements in my house. you can install it in any linux computer.
My computer refuses to install Linux, would it work for Windows?
Also, does the computer have to stay on for it to work?

sadly yes, i guess you dont know what a DNS is? this is basically a DNS server.. (in layman terms, a dns is the computer phone book. when you access a website the computer asks a dns server for the ip address of the website)
ideally you want the device always on..
So a raspbery pi is perfect for this task, its a tiny linux computer, you can just plug it next to the internet router and you dont even know its there
i configured my devices to only listen to it and if i turn off the raspberry my devices basically can no longer open websites and other stuff

try lucky patcher as recomended above

No because I believe they are enhanced remakes made from scratch using a custom engine and not a rom so I believe it won't work. just download an emulator.
You are right the android/ios Sega Forever games Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 and Sonic CD are enhanced remakes they all use Christian Whiteheads retro engine they are not emulations of the Megadrive/Genesis roms.

Manually disable the ad activities in the app rather than using the automatic patch. The automatic patch only searches for strings commonly used by Google's ad services. It won't patch third party advertising like splash walls and the like.
