Zelda Rev 0 or Zelda nsp as base? In case it's not working try deactivating the meta patching in case it's the patcher messing with some content.
Rev xci won't work as base since they already have an update. I'll take care of that soon.

Yes, the origin is irrelevant. It'll pack all nca from xci or nsp into the xci and yes the game will work updated and with the includes dlc

What about ban risk?

The keys_template.txt should be updated, no *_05 inside.
Anyway, could a small keys.txt check be added to the beginning ?
To see if it's up-to-date with all needed and current values.

Another thing:
When generating a XCI with MasterKey4 base and MasterKey5 update, shouldn't the result be MasterKey5 in total ?
If I check it with XCI Explorer, the new XCI shows correct Title ID and the new game revision, but the "old" MasterKey-Level.

No, it doesn't work like that. I know many people think the content is merged or something but it is just repacked so each nca will require the masterkey from it's crypto encryption. I don't really know how xci explorer reads the day I mostly use nut info function.

About the keys you are right. It seems I forgot to overwrite the template.

What do you mean with "use nut info function"? Using another tool or is it just dos-command-thing without a nice GUI?
Sorry to ask. I'm just searching for the best way to check all files, XCI and NSP.

Ah, I understood you wrong I think. You're trying to make a nsp with all Zelda content and install that as nsp? I think recent releases of tinfoil (from Addubz) doesn't support that, the one from blawar should (at least releases before he took of the custom nsp installation) and sx installer\rommenu should to.
I really don't see the point in add all Zelda content to a nsp since it's a big game.

the game installs more does not stay with the content that I added or installed only update or just the base game
advantage is not having to install one by one the nsp

@alimao there's only an advantage to merging if you're merging to a single xci and don't want to install nsps at all. if you're going to install one, installing a few more isn't much effort, and is known to work... just saying...

so the program does not build nsp with BASE games + updates only XCI

Yeah, it's trough the console you need but by blawar.

No it supports them the issue is not all installers will work with multi-nsp.
SX installer works, rommenu works since is SX installer, I think some old versions of tinfoil work with them and finally tinfoil by blawar aka dz also works with them.
He removed the custom nsp option but he added it back in the last version.

When building an XCI file with 2 different XCI/NSPs is it possible to tell the created XCI file to order the games in a specific order? So, if game 1 and sequel are together I would like the final XCI file to show game 1 and sequel NOT sequel then game 1.

Didn't look into how the switch order them. Figuring out how it does it should be possible to modify either hacbuild or squirrel to allow it.
I'll end looking into it but the time I spent into NSCB is limited and right now other features take priority.

I'm not sure it would matter anyway. Doesn't horizon reorder them everytime you play something anyway? I think it always moves it to be the first game from then on and keeps it in the list. So I'm not sure there is a point in this except for on the first launch.

Not a huge priority for sure. But the OCD in me DOES get bothered when a game is not ordered in the way I like it. More flexibility is always a good thing for me. In my mind, I will always know that when I launch the XCI the game will not be in the order that I like it. I am not sure how NSC Builder handles which files go first but it would be cool to decide which one does.

Oh, I get it, because I've already thought about it as I have been building these. But, I think Horizon will just mess them up immediately. I suppose when it is remounted it would move them back to the beginning, but I think it keeps the last one played first.

Am I just being silly but packing a game, dlc and update together means they don’t need installing? So just run as a normal xci?

Not sure how the hell I have missed this

I just saw this too and would like to get started on it. Currently, using XCI only on my SX OS and would like to try this out as i always wanted to play Taiko with their DLCs.

So what happens when i already have official updates for the XCI from ninty servers? Do i exclude them or are there no issues to use the whole packaged xci+updates+DLC even thought i already have some updates in my switch itself. Thanks in advance.

Jules, i presume any games or updates that require 6.2 will fail? Ive heard of issues with the new kirby update and maybe mario tennis, but not sure 6.2 is 100% why or even your tool. could just be the CFW too. Figured i would check in case it was more obvious before spending too much time on it.

EDIT - Ignore - not your tool. They are working fine. Thanks.

Question, is it possible to extract from these xci files to?
I mean like the way they are added (as nsp files for dlc/update) extract them that same way so i can pull stuff out of it?
Thanks :)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
