What I am trying to do is get HBL on the home page instead of Haxchi. I have haxchi.

Current Setup:
1. 64GB Micro SD formated to Fat32 (tried it with a 2GB SD, same results)
2. Haxchi Installed
3. Homebrew_Channel_Launcher installed in a folder on the SD called "install"

I turn on the Wii U, run haxchi (without holding down any buttons). HBC comes up, I go to WUP Installer GX2, I select Homebrew_Channel_ launcher, click install, , asked if I am sure, asks NAND or USB, I pick NAND, screen goes white and wii u menu icon pops up for a few seconds. Then it goes back to the WUP screen and it starts to load but immediatly goes to "verify WUP files are correct and complete". I believe it is complete because I got HBL right of the download page.

What am I missing?

Ok I deleted some stuff because I didn't realize you were trying to install homebrew launcher. Not even sure that's possible, but it has to be in .app files for it to install through WUP. Otherwise it's not WUP installable thus you can't.

You can't just install Homebrew_Channel_Launcher through Wup installer.

Pretty sure you have to keep Haxchi on your home page. But you could move it over a few screens so it's not visible unless you change to that certain screen just hold it down and drag it to another screen.

Who told you you could do this? You're lucky it told you it couldn't install instead of bricking your Wii U because you're doing something that's not normal.

Combo of watching videos and following threads on this site. What is the correct way to do this? basically I have HB via the haxchi channel and within that the apstore with a few apps. Can I have a link to the most current and accurate guide? 5.5.3 is my system.

You already have what's normal. Homebrew channel within haxchi and appstore and few apps. That's what I've had for 2 years now. If you don't want to see Haxchi just move it over to another screen and only use it when you have to.

I don't know what the heck you're watching on Youtube (usually don't trust Youtube) but you're fine like you are now. Just install your games through Wup Installer GX (that's what it's for, installing GAMES not the Homebrew Launcher) and play them off your main screen.

Appreciate you stopping to help me. I could easily be jacking this up. I just need to know what to follow to get this right.

I followed this link until I got to step 4 when I realized USB Helper was down. https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-community-noob-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.451297/
So I posed a thread to try to figure out how to go the physical copy install route (which is all I really want to do).
I get the exact same error when I tried that. This tread I posted last week talks to those struggles, many thanks to noSoul81 for his help. https://gbatemp.net/threads/no-way-to-burn-wii-u-disks-i-own-to-hdd.524291/

I have been having so much trouble with that and thought, based on the discussion in the other thread I posted, that it might be because I do not have the HBL on my wii menu, I just have Haxchi which takes me to HB. So I am trying to install the HB Channel. Picture below is an example of what I am trying to do

homebrew-launcher-title-jpg.15132

Cyan's guide here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/homebrew-launcher-for-wiiu.416905/
mentions this under "installatoin and launching process" under "the channel version": 3. Use WUP installer (any version) or WUP Server with install() command to install the Homebrew channel package on a signature patched firmware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I just want to install my disc copies of my games.

You are getting this error because you're trying to install a custom, unsigned "channel" without being in CFW. You need to launch Haxchi in CFW mode first. Do this : Launch Haxchi and hold down the "B" button once you see the Haxchi boot logo. Continue to hold the "B" button until you are returned back to the Wiiu menu. Now that you are in CFW, launch Haxchi again without holding any buttons. Now you are in HBL and you can launch WUPinstaller. It should install now. Keep in mind that you will need to be in CFW to launch this HBL "channel".

NOTE: Holding "B" while Haxchi launches is the default way to enter into CFW. Your configuration may be different. If holding "B" does not return you back to the WiiU menu, then your config is different and you will need to determine which button is assigned to launch sysmenu. This is determined in the config.txt file that came with the Haxchi installer. You can modify this config.txt file to your liking, if it's not already, and run the Haxchi installer again

Wow, that seams to have worked. Now for games...

Do I need to do it exactly the same why you stated above or do can I just use the home brew channel.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Correction, that did not work, installed HBC to the Nand and it just gives me an error and says restart console when I try to click homebrew channel

Installing the HBL channel is perfectly normal, although it's mostly used by people that have CBHC (because the Haxchi channel already works as a HBL channel so it's not really needed)

Ok, cool, thanks... Now that I know how to do this, next step is wii, gamecube channels, just like this guy did:

Wii U USB Helper has built in WiiVC support for GC and Wii games: https://www.reddit.com/r/CemuPiracy/comments/8gj8z8/workaround_download_and_run_wii_u_usb_helper/
You will probably also have to add the title key site to your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) if you want to download Wii U games with it as the domain name expired a while back:
104.129.56.137 3ds.title...
104.129.56.137 wiiu.title...

Ok, so it sounds like it is not possible to install wii or GC or NES or SNES or anything on the Wii U home screen unless you are using some version of WiiU USB Helper?
