Nintendo puts rumors of Skyward Sword on Switch to rest, no current plans for a port

During a recent Legend of Zelda concert that took place in Japan, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma made a comment on stage that drove fans to think that Nintendo was possibly planning to port the Wii's The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to the Switch. He taunted the audience when questioned about Breath of the Wild, replying with "are you sure you don't want to ask about a Switch version of Skyward Sword?" which a reference to an earlier moment where the concert's host had expressed how much they enjoyed the music of Skyward Sword. This set sites into a frenzy, wondering if Aonuma's comment meant something more. However, an official statement from Nintendo today has grounded such ideas. According to the company, they, "have no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch" at this time.

I would love to see more stuff that didn't sell well from the WiiU moved over to the Switch, personally. SS was ok, but not really beloved and probably not a good candidate for a Switch port. So, not super surprising.

I couldn't really care less about Skyward Sword in all honesty. Wind Waker is the only one I really want ported to the Switch.

I kind of hated the motion control the stupid birds and over all, it's kind of lackluster for me personally. But I guess they will port Twilight Princess to the end of freaking times... (god do I despise Twilight Princess...)

I would they rather made a new Zelda, I wouldn't mind if it's a follow up to any game. I actually like BOTW the best so far.

TW is actually my favorite of the 3D Zeldas. I never got around to MM, WW, SS, and I haven't played BotW yet either. I am not good at the 3D zeldas. I tend to get stuck pretty easily. I was at least interested in SS, but it never got to the top of my list.

"Legend of Zelda concert" what?
Yes video games, especially Zelda, have concerts because the music is that good. Orchestrated arrangements and reimaginings or playing the music as is. Often with the London and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestras and being recognized globally.

Twilight Princess had a few orchestrated songs on it's soundtrack as is.
