being on low FW, i never was able to link my Nintendo account to the switch, that prevent me for many things like open the youtube app, however someone made modded version that doesn't need to Nintendo account.

so i had this question on my head, is it possible to patch the system so it wont asks me to link my account and just post the screenshot to twitter account?

I might be interested in this too.. when i get banned for A or B reasons i will need a way to post my pictures to social media but i can't do that if im banned cause posting to social media for some reason requires Nintendo Online Services.

I am not asking for how to update, connected to Nintendo network on hacked switch will be enough to gets me banned, and i don't want that.

Choidujour doesn't connects to the internet, you download the update with your pc from somewhere, place it on your SD card and then run the homebrew which will update the console, it automatically enables AutoRCM so you won't burn fuses and be able to downgrade whenever you want. For the love of God please backup your switch first.

I think they understand that bro.

But they don't want to connect to nintendos servers with their hacked switch, which is currently the only way to post to social media.

They are wondering if there is a way to post with out going through nintendo, i don't believe there is, maybe request in the homebrew section and someone with some skills might be able to work on it.

hmm, if not possible to patch this, then is it possible to make twitter homebrew on switch? or browser homebrew (without the long way to open the applet to use google)

I would say look at and contemplate muskieratboi's post. While I am not sure of the merits of all this (it is twitter so nothing interesting happens there) I can happily write it off as "to each their own" and muskieratboi's post presents the easiest way for this to happen. Someone might well be able to one day either provide a nice patch/plugin to do it, or remove/alter the relevant parts of the existing setup to do it but that would take a fair bit of effort and you will probably have to do it yourself (it is a very niche thing to want and there are far bigger problems to tackle).

Anyway
If the resulting images appear in a place on the file system, one we can access during a game and fire over FTP or something (I believe we have always on FTP these days), you could have something on a PC/raspberry pi/phone/whatever connect to it every so often, check for new files, copy them off and post (either automatically or throw a message to something else to confirm) and there you have it. We have loads of scripts to do similar things for any number of other devices (typically cameras and data logging devices) and if you have the always on FTP part on your switch the rest is probably something a simple guide already exists for (a casual search just now for twitter bot image posting yielded several with scheduling and whatever abilities).

There are doubtless setups this might not be ideal for but I imagine most of the time you would care to tweet such an image you will be in range of a known network you control, and if not you might be able to do something like a hotspot on your phone/tablet.

i tried the ftp method, it's good
but some times is not convenient
not all time i have a PC to post the photo, and setting up ftp to mobile is more troublesome.

i want something directly from the switch, i know many people wants that.

A homebrew app should in theory be possible. Since Twitter have an API right?
https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/media/upload-media/api-reference/post-media-upload.html

This is the API for uploading a picture to twitter, so finding an opensource twitter reader could make it possible to port.
didn't twitter did something last year to prevent any new API? and that killed most 3rd part twitter apps on the phone?

Many people want it? I don't doubt it. I genuinely dislike twitter and all it stands for and would do a little celebration if it closed tomorrow, someone making a twitter hack is not something I would try to block or insult though. The effort required however is probably going to be a lot and the number of people that reasonably stand a chance of pulling it off is small, if they have to stop looking at truly useful things like cheats, countering anti piracy, running more formats and so forth then I will have to question things.

Similarly you don't need a PC. I mentioned a raspberry pi for a reason -- they can quite happily be set to look at your Switch's FTP (FTP is a common standard so no special code needs to be written) every 30 seconds or so, pull any new files it sees and post them to whatever service you care to post them too. We have had such things basically since the start and indeed even the original raspberry pi models will probably do what you want it to here and have resources to spare. If you do it in the background you could also just leave it running on the PC while someone else does what they want to do. Depending upon what you feel like doing you might even be able to get more creative and do it directly from a server on the internet but let us not go there right now.

Seeing there is also a twitter posting app in homebrew request thread, I looked how the twitter API is working, in hope to create a homebrew to post tweets and pic/video to twitter, but it's not as open as I thought.
I thought anyone could send a tweet by providing his own login/password and message to post, but it's restricted to registered application with private keys only (open source homebrew and private keys doesn't mix well haha)
A solution would be to require users to request a twitter developer account to get their own private keys to allow communication with the API, it's a little heaver than I imagined.

another solution would be to keep the homebrew closed source, and work on behalf of user's provided credential, but I'm sure the private key can be retrieved by decompiling the homebrew so it's not safe for a released app (it is for online app, like webpage, servers, etc.).

maybe that's a developer restriction, and there's a end user API I missed ?

Someone could have people log into their imgur accounts on Switch and upload pictures there - They'd show in their account on imgur for easy retrieval, similar to twitter. (I assume, I don't actually have an imgur account) https://apidocs.imgur.com/

I hate when someone says "It will NEVER happen" so pessimist... you never know what developers can come up with! Facebook/Twitter and hopefully Instagram for the Switch!
