Hello there!

First of all: I´m not a pro! Either a Nerd! So is my english :D Sorry for that!
And if there´s a problem I actually spend hours (in this case months) to get things done/working.
But somehow...don´t know.
Most of those Threads are from 2015 or with 11.3

let´s see if you guys can help me.

I try to explain my situation as short as I can:

Bought hacked 3DS 2 years ago: 64GB SD-Card/CFW/CIAngel/FBI/FreeShop/...´n stuff like that.
"Downloading every single game on earth".
That was great! I´m pretty sure some of you guys know what I mean! :)

Only Problem: I knew nothing about all this CFW-Stuff. Conclusion -> no Backup!

Then: 11.8 update! Blackscreen! Hahaha! F*ck you Nintendo! That was a straight nutball!
(I know, i know... actually that wasn´t Nintendo. That was Karma!)

Whatever! A few months ago I was like "yeah, I can fix this"!

And I did! But don´t ask me how! :D

My system looks like this:

emuNAND (working!):
11.8.0.41E
8GB SD-card
Nintendo Network ID (M3m3nto) works fine
Luma3DS (9.1-89cc6ed)
FBI (2.5.3)
Anemone (1.2.1)
Godmode (1.4.0)

sysNAND (working!):
11.3.0-36E
Nintendo Network ID (M9m9nt0) didn´t log in ´cause you know, maybe there´s another Blackscreen waiting for me :D
beside standard apps, only FBI installed (1.4.17)

I also did the "a9lh to b9s"-thing (strange computer voice)
Youtube: How to update Arm9loaderhax (A9LH) to Boot9strap (B9S)

Now I think I know the difference between emuNAND and sysNAND and the basics of CFW.

BUT

Moving the content from my sd-card to a bigger one didn´t work! (sysNAND booted, instead of emuNAND)
Can´t find any current support for my system. Everybody´s like "yeah just copy&paste the files! but this isn´t working!

Playing .nds games via twloader didn´t work! Launcher installed! But after launching the game Mr.Error says "shut down your system!" -.-
Is it necessary to install these two .cia files to sysNAND? And if, how can I do this?

And the biggest question of all, is my system safe? I mean there are two Network ID´s running on it?
Would it be safe to update sysNAND to 11.8?

And last but not least:
During that restoring-session I made a NAND backup from my old system. Probably that System which is still running on sysNAND (cause it still got my old ID right?). Would it be possible to restore my old 64GB-System with all my gamesaves?

That would be awesome!
Probably that won´t work cause it crashed right?

Für alle deutschen User:
Wer das alles versteht, wovon ich rede, der dürfte auch gut genug Englisch verstehen :)
Erkläre es aber gerne auf Anfrage nochmal in Deutsch!

Update sysnand to 11.8 and ditch emunand

update sysNAND with inserted flashcard or without?

"ditch emuNAND" means move it to new sysNAND like 3ds.hacks shows, ok, BUT what about my old Backup? Just insert 64gb-SD with old DATA (A9lh) and go for it?

Get rid of your emuNAND by following this guide: https://3ds.hacks.guide/move-emunand
It's no longer needed or useful and hasn't been for years, and it causes issues with DSiWare like you mentioned.
Actually, all you needed to do to get it working again was update Luma (which requires installing B9S first if you didn't have it already)

You didn't explain the restoring sessions, did you restore to sysNAND or to emuNAND?
Your save data is recoverable if you still have it on the SD card or you have a backup of the SD card from back then. You'll need movable.sed from that NAND backup (which you can get by mounting the NAND backup in GM9 and copying the file out of it, or with the tool mentioned below if you dump your OTP), a boot9.bin backup (which you can dump from GM9) as well as the corresponding SD card data, and even if the NAND backup doesn't work, you can mount the SD data on a PC using https://github.com/ihaveamac/fuse-3ds and copy the decrypted data which can then be imported back with Checkpoint.

So many questions.
  • Never follow video guides. Many are bad and/or outdated. Only use https://3ds.hacks.guide/
  • Your GodMode9 (important) and Anemone (not important) are old.
  • Copying the files of your SD to another does not copy the EmuNAND-partition(s)
  • Backup your saves with Checkpoint and/or JKSM before doing anything and store them on a computer.
  • TWLoader is discontinued. Have a look at TWiLight Menu++ after you have set everything else set up.
Counter question:
What is wrong with the 64GB card? Please elaborate: Is it corrupted? Unreadable

Wow, that´s a lot of new information!
Ok f*ck them video-guides!
Update godmode and anemone!
Update sysnand to 11.8!
Follow guide to move old emunand to sysnand.

Sorry I can´t explain the whole restoring session, I think I just updatet luma and it worked but I will try to remember and also try to get all the information together and reply tomorrow.
The old sdcard isn´t corrupted cause I could save data from it, right?
I just couldn´t start the 3DS after updating to 11.8.
Sysnand is now on 11.3 so i think i restored to emunand?!

Need to go to work now!

Sorry, but thank you again! That looks like I can fix it.

You guys will get a like as soon as I fixed it!

Ok here‘s the Update:

I moved emunand to sysnand

The Guide says:
Section VIII - Format SD card
  1. Reinsert your SD card into your device
  2. Press (Home) to bring up the action menu
  3. Select “More…”
  4. Select “SD format menu”
  5. Press (A) to confirm
  6. Select “No EmuNAND”
  7. Select “Auto”
  8. Press (A) to accept the label GM9SD
    • Optionally, you may input a custom name for the SD card
  9. When prompted, input the key combo given to confirm
  10. Hold (R) and press (B) at the same time to eject your SD card
  11. Insert your SD card into your computer
  12. Copy all your files back to your SD card
    • Ensure you replace the boot.firm file on your SD card with the one from your backup
  13. Reinsert your SD card into your device
  14. Press (A) to remount your SD card
  15. Press (Start) to reboot

Is it possible to insert my 64gb sd Card with the other boot.firm?
Probably not cause every save game is locked with the actual Firmware right?

Moving the content from my sd-card to a bigger one didn´t work! (sysNAND booted, instead of emuNAND)

The reason switching sd cards didn't work is emunand is its own partition and you didn't transfer that when you moved just your files.

Not saying you should bother with emunand, just that's what happened.

That‘s already been answered by „KleinesSinchen“ but Thank you anyway

I succesfully moved emunand to sysnand (during work ) and now try to recover old savedata.

I still have problems restoring my savedata. Sorry guys but this is so complicated :(

Maybe my explanation wasn´t correct.

I try again: (just in case...)

Now I have a 64GB SD-Card inside my 3DS
Without SD-Card it´s still working (don´t know why but I think thats because of CFW installed on SD)
SO everything is fine!

A few years ago I have had Luma+A9lh with a lot of games on it.
payloads folder: def_Dec9.bin/y_uncart.bin/y_EmuN9.bin
One day an Update blackscreened my 3DS. Then I did something I can´t remember.
A NAND.bin appeared :D
I copied all content of that SD-Card to my Computer.

Created completely new cfw with luma/b9s/fbi/etc.
I don´t care if that new System will be deleted.

Copied NAND.bin to gm9/out folder but it could not be found.
Key file missing?

"You'll need movable.sed from that NAND backup (which you can get by mounting the NAND backup in GM9 and copying the file out of it"
I understand what you mean but I don´t know how to do it :(

"and even if the NAND backup doesn't work, you can mount the SD data on a PC using https://github.com/ihaveamac/fuse-3ds and copy the decrypted data which can then be imported back with Checkpoint."
This Step doesnt work cause I need to have a running system from the old one right?

I know it´s frustrating for a genius to talk to a noob, sorry...

This is a little confusing. Without SD it’s still working and now the 64GB SD is inside and everything is fine?! Huh? Sorry I don’t get it.
Please explain: Where are the saves you want to backup? On the 64GB card? And you can’t access it now.

Mounting the data with a computer is some work. That is not the first way to try. I do not know if I can help you, but I can try if you describe it a little more.
The thing you can’t remember is probably A9LH to B9S and putting latest Luma on the SD (hopefully) I did something mysterious…

Sorry, I moved the content from my working System to 64gb sd Card.

The old 64sd Card i was talking about was my old System which I copied to my Computer (but somehow with a Nand.bin in the Root of the sd)

I now have that 3DS with a System on it i don‘t care about if it get lost and on my computers Harddrive is a folder with that old 3Ds/a9lh/ciangel/ blabla...

Do you mean this?:

Format 64gb sd with gm9
Then copy old files on it
Run gm9 and do the a9lh to b9s thing
And all my saves will be restored?

No you already did this if you can boot Luma 9.1. This has nothing do do with your saves.

The saves are stored in:
SD:/Nintendo 3DS:/<Long ID0 Number>/<Long ID1 Number>/title/00040000/<game ID>/data/00000001.sav
but they are encrypted and can't be accessed in decrypted form easily on a computer (see my link above).

If you put in a card with all the old files and folders what happens then? Can't you access the games/saves anymore?
Nand.bin is probably written by an old GodMode9 or Decrypt9WIP. Backups are always good. So keep it.

I sent you a screenshot of that old folder.

"If you put in a card with all the old files and folders what happens then? Can't you access the games/saves anymore?"
I will try to do that...

Formatting my sd with gm9, yes backup is beeing made :)
Then coping all the old files on it ...

Let´s see what happens :D

It won't boot unless you have boot.firm installed to the internal NAND.

the content is still moving from hardrive to sd... 30 minutes left -.-

I´m getting really excited :D

The boot.firm is enough for the test. What I have not understood yet is: Why have you build a complete new structure? What was wrong with the old one?

ok so just the boot.firm...

well that´s a good question.
I did not know anything about installing cfw on 3ds before.
Just bought that 3DS from a friend and blackscreened it and thought that System is broke. So I decided to repair it with my noob skills :D

I started Pokemon X again and after a few hours I was so bored of catching them all again :D Also the rest of my savedata like all Mario Games or Monster Hunter... Damn!
It felt like losing my childhood.
Somehow my inner child was reborn and wants to play all those beautiful games.
Some would say I´ve got too much time and some would be right :)

It´s done!
I´m on Luma 9.1 configuration screen...

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

any settings I should set?
enable game patching or stuff like that?

what makes you think it did not load ?. . . if you can see the luma settings then it can/should boot

b9s is an exploit (the very one used to launch gm9 and luma alike) and you have it already
