This thread is about 2.5" HDDs connected to the Switch in handheld mode, lol. You can't even attach a 3.5" drive to usb without external power, smh. Just stfu already.
I constantly even explicit said in all my comments 3.5 inch drives. It's funny how you ignored that and constantly went on about 2.5 drives while i kept repeating 3.5. You can and multiple people are doing that and i am warning them about doing that. You shut the fuck up instead of telling me to do. You quoted me not the other way around and you kept twisting what i said while i kept saying 3.5 and you kept on nagging about 2.5 drives trying to make a point. Again if ur using a 3.5 drive that way, don't come crying afterwards. Next time, read properly. Thanks

If anyone was curious as to what mental gymnastics performed by a delusional mind looked like, look no further than the above exchange. Wowzers.

Back on topic, anyone tried a usb-c flash drive?

USB C flash drive should work as my Lacie USB C 2.5" 1TB works out of the box. Even USB B to USB C HDD 2.5" works just fine.

This doesn't even make sense. You,much like this other guy, don't seem to understand how voltage works.
Do you realize the power draw from a 2.5" hdd is miniscule compared the voltage throughput of the devices core function, which is docking and charging? You have a base ignorance of voltage or the USB technology in general.
Here, do us all a favor and do some actual research yourself...Google USB port burned out from 2.5" HDD. I'll wait. Hint, it doesn't exist..in fact, the results offer up countless results that directly contradict what you are saying, and the danger is in burning out a connected device, not the port. Which I've already stated, had you bothered to actually read.
Also, brush up on that grammar, in addition to your fact checking, if you ever expect someone to take you seriously.
--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------
Ignore these guys. The real danger is frying the hdd itself, as Switch was never intended to have anything other than the dock connected to it, so who knows what kind of backfeed voltage is happening.
--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------
So, you're admitting what you said was nonsense? Ok, then.

I have no time for this sorry ;)

But please read this it is well researched and maybe then you understand what i mean:
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...e_switch_is_not_usbc_compliant_and_overdraws/

BTW i'am not a native speaking english person but i give it my best.
So if there are failures in my grammar i'am sorry for that ;)

I've read that thread, actually, did you? It's about using PD powerbricks, and completely not what we are talking about. Again, and for the last time, the concern is with damaging the device, not the usb port. The Switch USB-C port is rated to handle voltage much greater than any hdd actually demands. This is not complicated.

LOL
as a good conspiracy theorist you take what you need and leave what you don't need.
Nice one ;)

There're a lot of games await you to copy to your hdd. Don't waste your time on this theoretical mess.

Again, show me any proof on a usb port being burned out by a hdd. Whereas, I can, in short order, offer up multiple links regarding usb ports burning out flash drives and wrecking controller boards on hdds. But please, point out in your link, that YOU provided, specifically, how the usb port was damaged. You see, YOU are only providing hackneyed theories, and disparate reaching, and I have repeatedly offered up examples and explanation.
You simply have no clue what you are talking about, and its hilarious enough to see just how far you try to move the goalposts next.
I'm also curious if you are just Kumikochans second account to try and argue incredibly stupid things.

Don't get a 8TB My Book drive. I'd get one of those smaller 1TB drives by WD.

Or just get a high capacity flash drive. Less shakiness from cables while in portable mode!

Also, while on the topic of OTG adapters, does the Moto G5 Plus have OTG built-in or not? I tried NXLoader to for Hekate, and it never seems to work from my phone. It'd make injecting the payload for every time the Switch gives me a stupid error much less of a PITA.

Not to mention, does Retroarch on the Switch (non-Lakka) clear out RAM every time you go to load up another game? Because while I was configuring controls for all of the arcade games, every time I load up a new game, it would display a still image in the bg of the menu of a game that was loaded up, say, 5 minutes ago every time I went to load up a new game? Just curious, because the system gives me an error after loading up so many games in a short period of time because, again, I'm only configuring the controls to make more sense than B to jump, A to shoot, and X for throwing grenades (using Metal Slug as a reference)!

This is what I did used a 2.5 2tb Toshiba Portable formatted in exfat with 2xVelcro stripes on the back of the switch case using a Nonda Type C to USB adapter and it works a treat, it’s even more amazing how long the actual battery life lasts of the switch with the hdd connected and it’s also very light considering, not heavy at all to handle, it’s not uncomfortable to play with one bit which you may think it would be. I never have it in docked mode because it goes everywhere during the nighttime with me this is why I have done it also beats paying nearly the same £50.00 plus for a 200gb micro sd card against £50.00 plus for a 2tb portable HDD:-

No problem this is the same as I bought:-

HDD
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-HD...41528869&sr=8-3&keywords=toshiba+2tb+portable

Type C to USB
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015Z7XE0A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The only issue I have with using usb, which is not the equipment's fault, if your playing a game and you use sleep mode it turns the HDD off and then turns your game off as if you have ejected the cartridge you have to then start it back up again but as long as you remember not to put it in sleep mode you will be ok everything works flawless.

Thanks
No one is talking about or using a 3.5" drive unpowered. It simply wouldn't power on if you tried. Not sure why you're even mentioning that because it makes no sense.
