PS4 exclusive Days Gone delayed once more

With the lack of upcoming heavy hitting PlayStation 4 exclusives, and the announcement of PSX 2018 not happening this year, Sony has decided to quickly discuss and give an update for four titles that’ll be launching on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR soon. Deracine, Days Gone, Everybody’s Golf VR, and Concrete Genie are on tap from PlayStation Worldwide Studios, though a lack of any new details for The Last of Us Part 2, or Media Molecule’s Dreams is noticeable here.

Deracine, made by Dark Souls developer FromSoftware is a PlayStation VR exclusive, which has players experience a story through the eyes of a faerie going through a school where time doesn’t move. It’s still on track for its November 6 of this year.

Notably, we see that Days Gone has faced another delay, once slotted to release in 2018, and then changed to February 2019, the game has now been scheduled for launch on April 26, 2019. This time, the reason for the delay was due to February having too heavy a lineup, and a delay giving time for Days Gone to release when there’s not many competing games, as well as allow Sony’s Bend Studio more time to polish the game.

Concrete Genie doesn’t have much information available within its description, but the game features a character who uses a magical paintbrush to save his town. More details are promised at a later date for this early 2019 release.

Lastly, Everybody’s Golf will be coming to PlayStation VR, offering a virtual reality experience of playing golf in VR with the PSVR headset and the PlayStation Move controller.

Quite sensible that they're not launching any exclusives during this busy period of multi-plat triple A releases.

OP also gave the story a negative slant with that opening "With the lack of upcoming heavy hitting PlayStation 4 exclusives...", which reeks of bias - especially as the Sony platform has been host to several exclusives this year alone that have outsold any exclusives from their rivals.

Only because it was basically what Sony themselves said about why they cancelled PSX 2018. A lack of footage or demos for major heavy hitting exclusives meant hosting the event was not viable to them. I’m sure they’ll have their time to shine in 2019, but it remains that they’re pretty much done and dusted with 2018 or anything in the immidiate future, with GoW and Spider-Man already released.

Their reason for doing this mostly appears to stem from the fact that now Spider-Man is out, they don’t have anything to really hype right now, and they don’t have an event to give time to these games, so they get a quick snippet in the PS Blog as a side note.

That's just what everyone said about Persona 5's lengthy development... oh, wait, no, nobody said that... except maybe a few bitter Nintendroids
Literally no one said that. Persona 5 was gonna be hype af, but it still got beat out by Zelda in GotY. Doesn't matter if both are amazing games.

Bolded the portion of my statement that makes your response irrelevant.
Shouldn't have to explain the 'humour', but as it was a response to...
might as well cancel it, nobody gives a shit about it and it already skipped nearly an entire generation.
...from someone obviously unaware that there is a certain amount of hype around this game and that lengthy developments of highly anticipated releases are not a bad thing.
Did anyone ever say that Last Guardian should just be cancelled because nobody gave a shit? ...and that game literally did skip more than a whole console generation!

Days Yet To Come..

That is why Duke Nukem Forever is the best game ever made.
Duke Nukem forever is basically a cancelled game that got released just to make a quick buck. I think there is a big difference when they keep starting over from scratch and just release a bunch of incoherent levels as opposed to a game actually being in development for years.

Are VR games worth it if you don't have physical feedback of the objects that hit you?
I think it is currently not worth it. I have a Vive and rarely use it. Its fun and all but it's still too uncomfortable for long gaming. The most I spend in is 10-25 min. in one game or program before my neck or eyes begin to feel strained.

It wasn't started from scratch. Either way, delaying a game gives no guaranteen it'll be good. Obviously rushing out is hurtful but in these days is recoverable, take the example of No Man's Sky, and you can delay a game that as poor design from scratch. More even so, if the game is delayed there is some chance that it was poor planed to begin with and it'll ever suffer for it, regardless when it is launched.
