Hey there guys.
So i got really bored with my wii u i haven't used it since last year and i hate that machine..
One of my friends has a psp and ps2
The psp's buttons do not work but i will repair it.
You guys think it's a good idea to trade in my wii u for those 2 consoles
I am mainly doing those for the SMT and persona games because i love em.
Played them on emulators but this time i want to try them on actual hardware.
Of course i will try other exclusives too.
You think its a good opportunity for a nintendo boy like me to get into Sony's realistic games

sound like an ok deal if you know you can fix it, tho if it was me i would also ask for a little bit of money to make it more fair deal

I'd say you're losing for this deal. Especially for the damaged PSP.
You could maybe get $200 for the WiiU alone, and IMO you're better off selling it alone, and the buy a PSP and a PS2 for cheap from somewhere else, keeping the remaining cash for accessories, games, etc.

I think that @NoNAND might have already made the deal, now feels a little bit insecure about his choice and simply came here for reafirmation that he made a good choice. His replies read to me as if he's in "full defensive" mode of justifying his actions.

@NoNAND: If that's what you're here for, you can have it: You made a great choice there buddy ;)

Thing is you could have bought a functional psp for $40 and a ps2 for $50 tops - via eBay or pawn shop.

Then you could sell your wiiu, heck even to a pawnshop - and still come out on top with cash in hand.

Your friend robbed you blind and I hope you choose more honest friends in the future.

But wii u is boring...

Hate to tell you but you need a true friends/honest friends than the ones you have. Beware!

You can buy PS2 or PSP for a cheaper price but you are right for one thing: Wii U is boring. That's why I never had one. I had Wii and regret it so I won't buy Wii U. Nintendo Switch and PS4 are fine for me. :) :grog::yay:

That's a really bad deal... unless you're getting a considerable amount of games and accessories included.
A working PSP together with a PS2 can be got for less than half what Wii U's still sell for.

If you didn't do the trade yet (I don't see any confirmation of that assumption someone made here), then you should really first try to get a better deal selling it on craigslist or whatever the preferred social marketplace of your country is. There you can also look up what other consoles go for. Most of those might be in a better condition than that PSP you are being offered.

@Localhorst86 Wanna be friends? :)

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
