im guessing XAJ70049XXXXXX (big camera AKIHABARA) being patched i really dont understand this even after looking at OP and 30+pages

If you find a place that has unpatched switches in Tokyo, could you please let me know where as I really don't have the time to go around but would really like to get one. Also just out of curiosity, did they let you check for serials at Bic Camera?

You should probably remove the last 5 or 6 numbers of the serial number from your post

I suggest you do some more research. Patched is patched, there is nothing you can do right now other then sell it.

finding an unpatched one might be extremely hard anywhere in japan unless its places that arent too popular like outer outer city areas, yodobashi akiba they did have the splatoon 2 bundle im sure its unpatched i really should have went with that also could look at tsutaya or book off/hard off for a 2nd hand also which works out about the same as a tax free discount+visa card

Yes, my serial has 9 digits and not 8 digits after the XAW. A little confused and want to double check.

If you're paranoid that you're counting an extra zero, you can try posting a picture of the console's serial number (not the full thing of course) but from where I'm sitting, the console isn't patched.

Careful with that Splatoon 2 bundle. I wanted to go with it too but then realized that the boxes now show "3 months Nintendo Online free". The original box did not show that logo obviously since the service is newer than that bundle. That little detail makes me think that there's a chance the switch found in those boxes might not be the exact same found in the original bundle and could as such be patched. The Splatoon 2 bundle with the original box seems hard to find now.

Sorry guys, this question has probably been asked thousands of times but I'd like to be 100% sure. What are the safest bundles to buy right now? I'm afraid purchasing a vanilla Switch may result in receiving a patched unit.
