Hi,

I recently got a used NSW so that I could use the SX Pro and not have my kids banned on the regular NSW.
I have been reading a few posts about custom firmware and fuses (not sure it's related).

1. When using the SX Pro (after booting into RCM) should I update the console (currently in vers. 5) to v6? If so how?
2. Is there a custom firmware that needs to be installed instead? Again if so, how?
3. What are the fuses people are talking about in certain posts?
4. (last one): Is there any way to install new games without removing the usd (that reboots the console and I have to go through finding the dongle and all this process)
5. (last one, really !) heard about the Switch online NES emulator, what's a good tutorial to add more games and are there any risks in doing so for my kids' console (bans...) - Notes: We have not yet updated the console (still running v5) and have not yet subscribed to this service (but we will).

Thanks,

1. You don't have to yet. Only few game updates need 6.0.0. You would update by going to settings - system and update. Or via Choidujournx.
2. Don't know what you mean by this. A. You are not installing CFWs. B. SX OS is CFW.
3. Fuses are literaly fuses on your device, which get blown when you (in this case) update, so that they can't be change and the OS can tell how many of them are blown.
4. You can use tinfoil or dz and install from network.
5. Best tutorial is to get one with already added games :D
Otherwise probably this.

1. Can this be done through a game while running in SX Pro fw (cfw) ? I suppose games will propose this upon booting them.
2. Got it. I did not realize booting RCM and SX Pro was booting into a custom fw (I now feel pretty dumb... but I felt dumb before so no worries)
3. So everytime an update is done fuses are burnt. Make sense but what's the purpose, is there not a risk of running out of fuses in cases there are many updates?
4. Thanks, I will check these apps and in the meantime just upload stuff the old way directly to the usd card
5. Sounds Greek to me but with this info I'm pretty sure to find a video tutorial somewhere

Again Thanks

1. Yes. That's also a way to do it. Forgot about that.
3. Not every update burns a fuse. Just the major one does. And there are hundreds/thousends of them.
