Hello, right now Im using sx os with a card formatted in exfat. Did this all the on a Mac. I’m on 5.1. Nsp and xci work perfectly, homebrew emus tend to get an error code sometimes and crazy. Also get an error code when booting up system but that doesn’t seem to affect anything. I’m Is there a way of having both worlds on 1 card or do I need 2 memory cards to make this work, 1 in exfat for nsp/xci and another in fat32 for homebrew?

Fat32 is the recommended format for emulators. EXFat typically is only used for files greater than 4gb+

From my understanding you have to decide Fat32 or EXFat. I personally use EXFat and run RetroNX with no problems yet, but the creators highly recommend FAT32.

I have 2 SD cards.

ExFAT for backups and media (128GB)

Fat32 for Homebrew apps (Like RetroNX) (32 GB)

I prefer use 2 SD cards to prevents any issue with corruption on sd card. Mayb in the future with a modification or Homebrew we can changue SD cards without power off the console (IDK it’s that possible but it’s a possibility)

I like this idea, it can become annoying since you have to reboot your system into RCM and load the CFW each time you want to play one or the other, but it beats having to backup data and reformat SD card or risk possible bricks too. I think I am going to do that too!

I’ll have to get 2 cards. It’s weird, retroNx won’t “see” any of the cores for some reason in exfat

I have had no issues using an EXFat sd card for both backups and homebrew emulators.

I guess it's varied results for some people. Personally I am now going to run with 2 Micro SD cards, one for XCI and NSP with the other being solely for Emulators

I use sx and RetroNX (emulation) on the same 256GB sd in exfat and haven't had issues. Just hold R1 on the album and there's your homebrew. When things work perfectly, as they have been, I don't update anything until absolutely necessary. Which is why I'm still on SX 1.5. I got everything I want/need and I get to avoid the mess that's happening on sx version 2.0.

How is your file layout? It recognized retronx, but no ROMs or cores
