My switch currently is still working perfect, but the only problem is I didn't back up my nand before modding. Now i'm wanting a clean nand backup just incase I want to go back to stock. I have not connected to the nintendo servers since so logs shouldn't be a problem. Could somebody walk me through using choidujour with my keys to generate this clean nand, or present another more ideal option.
if you didn't backup your nand to begin with you are simply screwed.
Not sure what all you've used, but considering you haven't been online since. I'm also assuming you're probably using an old system version. I think if you were to wipe your error logs with nx-dreport and then do a system format, that's probably about as "clean" as you can get your system at this point. It won't be perfect, but I doubt you'd be banned if you went online afterwards in stock Horizon. And if you did get banned, it was going to inevitably happen anyway.

I am in a similar situation and would love a solution! Currently running CFW 5.1.0 with SX OS 1.9, I want to run a NAND backup but after some research found that it's too late. Hoping to get more clarity and a possible solution!
No because it will not remove any bogus error logs generated by homebrew/CFW. This is also why removing these error logs via hacks is considered unsafe as Nintendo can detect this and ban users hence why the tool to do so has been removed from public download.
Well would a NAND backup after having hacked the console allow me to restore in cases where I am not able to boot CFW anymore? Sorry for dumb questions, still kinda new to all this even after a month. My main quest is finding out if doing a NAND backup is even worth it for me at this point, regardless of ban from Nintendo or not.
No because chronologically, making a NAND backup after the console was hacked will contain all of the traces of the console being hacked up that point. Imagine dumping the NAND as taking a photograph of your console at that exact time; that picture is a culmination of all of the past experiences the Switch went through. Currently, it is impossible to recreate a NAND backup after the console has been hacked.
Let's say:-
1) backup NAND
2) boot to SXOS and tried to access games in SD card formatted with exFAT (offline)
3) oppss... forgot to patch exFAT (offline)
4) boot back to Horizon (online)
5) update with exFAT (online)
6) boot back to SXOS (offline)
7) play play play (offline)
8) want to go online, so I do NAND recovery (offline)
9) go online
Do you think this will cause a ban because the last firmware I have while online is firmware 5.1.0 + exFAT update (step 5), but if I do recovery with backup NAND in step 1, I will get just the 5.1.0 without exFAT update?
The issue that most people don't seem to understand that creating the NAND backup is only the first step to remaining safe while online. Every time you go online with a clean NAND backup and intend to go back offline with hacks, you must create another NAND backup to restore when going online. This is because your original NAND backup has now changed from Nintendo's point of view meaning returning to the original a second time will alert Nintendo that you modified the console to a state that differs from the last time you were online.
that is what I was thinking too so i'm expecting a ban. I didn't backup the 2nd time because I already boot to SXOS. What's the point of backup the 2nd time since I should already have error report once I boot to SXOS right?
I just hope that Nintendo didn't keep track. I will let you know if I will get ban when I restore NAND. Then we will be sure if Nintendo keep track. Or you're 100% sure Nintendo is really keeping track. LOL
Right. What @Draxzelex pointed out, is that after each time you go online with a clean backup of Nand, you should do a new one BEFORE going back to do anything with CFW, Homebrews offline, and use this backup next time going online and repeat the process...

Yeah doesn't really care because we can play so many games in offline mode.
It will damage the screen first i think. I backup once and the screen is on for more than 1 hour without any changes in animation. It's lcd but still...lolMe too, so I don’t go online...
