For me it would be the playstation classic for 2 reasons.

1. I never had a N64 before unfortunatly so i have no clue what to completely expect from it yet i do know the PS1 a bit.

2. Im sure that @DinohScene will get an N64 classic that i can steal

"totally for free"

so you can play old xbox games for free on the Xbox One?
It's misleading, yeah. I think they meant that you don't have to re-buy the classic games if you already have them, like you do for Nintendo and Sony. Maybe that's what @DinohScene meant by 31 games, but that's only the Game Pass number. Many more have been given away through the years of Games With Gold. All GWG 360 and Xbox games are comaptible with Xboner.

31 original xbox games can be played on Xbone.
GTA SA Xbox isn't compatible, the HD version is.

Hard choice.

Both look like arse today, though for slightly different reasons (the jaggies/blur on the N64, to say nothing of its framerate, but the colours were bright vs the muddy dull colours on the PS1 and polygon budget of about 7). In fantasy world if they juiced them as far as any emulator and texture mapping hack has got I would probably pick the PS1 but that is not going to happen for a cheap and cheerful nostalgia cash in.

I can't imagine Nintendo could get the best lineup going on (they are obviously going to be down Rare's efforts) and I can see Sony being able to call up far more people to say "how about it?". Going further the N64 does not have many games and while out and out classics might be thinner on the ground on the PS1 there is enough that they could put together something incredibly special through sheer quantity if nothing else where the N64 is good for a long weekend at best.

If I am continuing with the real world then N64 emulation is a pain in the arse and Nintendo don't do good emulators. PS1 emulation is far more of a solved issue and most of the time Sony's efforts produce better results.

Of course in all this I have a PC so why I would plump for some sub par commercial emulators when I can have all the nice graphics tweaks, ROM hacks, cheats, savestates, good controllers and all that. Similarly most that was any good on the N64 has been remade in better formats over the years.

I suppose to end I shall have to spin it again. Dreamcast mini? Frequently some of the best examples of PS1/N64 era multiplats and some hard to come by things of its own.

Nobody has got N64 emulation anywhere near what I'd call more than a novelty in nearly 20 years. Even the Wii VC games were subpar. The Zelda Anniversary or whatever it's called on GameCube had some major emulation problems IIRC, so not even Nintendo can get it right. Not going to be a N64 Classic in a while, if ever.

As much as I'd like to see a Saturn Classic, it pains me to realize that Saturn emulation is notoriously difficult, and that SEGA can barely produce a working Genesis/MD emulator anyhow. The Saturn had some good shnups and JRPGs on there, though, sadly, most of them got region locked to Japan.

Real talk, though, my PC can play all of these games already, so I'm just sticking with that. I just got into video games when the PS2 was relevant, so I don't really have much authentic nostalgia for most gamrs/systems older than that. I just play the games for the games.

If they didn't do a good NES emulator when the time came for that, this despite anybody most likely being able to download full transistor schematics of the relevant chips and others knowing everything down to timing ranges in the wild, and people having accurate emulators for many years then I don't hold out any hope of that.
