Doing a quick search it looks like the B01Y is safe, B02Y is questionable.

Can you return it?

I searched and found people on other forums which bought the same B02Y and got 4.73. No, at my country a return is no option, and I even sold my Gold Slim which was on 5.05 for this.

Now I do not know if I should leave it and buy some old game to play and hope that something comes out, or should I go straight forward and buy Spiderman or Shadow of the Tomb Raider and play without thinking...

I was thinking of buying the last of us remastered, but it requires updates in order to get the benefits of the pro :/

You might be right there.

@Harry2001 the only way to play it is to update your console to 6.00 and lose any chance of having an exploit for a very long time.

Either stick with 5.05 and enjoy all the 5.05 and below games and PS2 classics OR update for a couple of new games... your choice.

Read a few post before, on the last site the last post I think. I wrote that I bought it and got 5.50, but everyone else on the internet got with the exact same model a 4.73.

I am the only one unlucky but I will be patient and wait and hope.

Just paste the model number in google "CUH - 7116B B02Y Firmware" and you will find different posts in different forums so you can check.

Kept looking around today and found a couple of slim that looked hackable but was looking for a pro.
I found a bundle with GT sport that appears to be one of the good ones.

Only problem it's in store that doesn't do refund. Pretty shitty

Here's a potentially ignorant question: in OP it says that CUH-7016B is on 4.07. Does that mean that every CUH-7016B model is on 4.07 regardless of the serial number?
