The increasingly popular Fortnite is getting its own Nintendo Switch bundle. The bundle comes with the Switch console, Fortnite, in-game items, and 1000 V-Bucks, the in-game currency. The PS4 Fortnite bundle, in comparison, gives you one in-game item and 500 V-Bucks.

Many people forget Fortnite isn't technically F2P; it has a story mode which came out first, and only the battle royale mode is free.

...But that doesn't matter because battle royale is the only part anybody actually cares about.

The hammer of insult continues to fall on the nail of disappointment being driven into my skull.

I seriously regret buying a switch, and they just keep doing nothing interesting with it.

Ports ports ports ports ports ports and then this type of garbage. There's not even any special Fartnite theme or branding on any of the hardware. The other "special edition" themed consoles don't even have anything noticeable about them aside from different-colored joycons. You'll never notice those black-on-black decals, especially if it's on the dock.

Anyway, they may as well include a bundle of free to play games by default at this point.

Though I'd probably still get a normal Switch over this one, because I keep the packaging...

That's a good point. For the people who want to keep the box, who wants Fortnite allover it? Doesn't help that it is like 1/2 the box.

I don't get all the hate here. Fornite sucks, it's a free game, yes, but this has no additional cost. It is THE most popular game right now and is sure to bring a lot of people in, due to the game's online nature it's important to remind the potential players that this one port will receive enough attention. Also this is literally the only game you can play online without paying for a stupid subscription on Switch from today onwards. Surely people who buy this will also get other games and increase the system's potential as a whole.

That's the easiest, and pettiest route to take. We are at a point in the gaming world where apparently ANY freebie is a good one. Which is highly pathetic and rather irrational when back in the genesis days you could get up to THREE free AAA titles and a second controller with the purchase of a console. Modern day "sales" and offers are not that great and apparently we're just settling for less than mediocre.

This is a waste and pointless. The game is free anyway, why would you package a free game in a “bundle”? It costs just as much as a regular Switch, too! I mean, in game items, but who would buy this? It’s better just to get any other bundle. Also, that box art is just lazy.
