11.3 ofw , ok thanks a lot

Okay, I'll look into it before I pay you.
But I heard that nintendo has blocked hack 3ds luma? With a firmware patch?
So I'll check already which 3ds model I should buy?
There are second-hand new 3ds, 3dsXl, and then one thing I don't know is a 3 ds, but I have the impression that the screen is in 16/9? Bizarre

I think nintendo loses customers like me, the game console extension policy is never profitable, remember sega with, son32x, mega.cd etc...
The 2ds, the 3ds, the xl, there are some who have the 3d, others who no longer have any, others with small screens, large screens, then this thing in the window, a 3ds 16/9, in short it is the jungle, the same for linkers, homebrew, the other not the last supported games etc.... Puree I'm French, but now I'm saying wtf nintendo??

Hi, I'm really sorry if this has already been asked, but I needed to ask if I needed to keep the flashcart in when I use ntrboot. Once Im done installing it and stuff will I still need it in my console everytime I boot it up or can I just put it back in my DS Lite

No need to keep it in, but you'll need to restore it to play DS games again. Follow all the steps: https://3ds.hacks.guide/ntrboot

Don't think you can back up the flashcart without a hacked 3DS, so make sure the flashrom backup is available near the bottom of this page.

If the "Dump flash" option is available on your DS Lite, use it before flashing ntrboot.

...do you think that could work? i see the option on gm9 but i cannot tell if i need a pre-fetched v11.8 file (not asking here) or something. i read that this is only good for downgrades.

@Quantumcat

I actually bought it already hacked, so I don't know when the original owner did hack it.

In any case, the arm9loaderhax.bin from version 7.0.5 worked (thanks!) I no longer get stuck in the black screen/blue led single flash. Now I'm taken to a black Luma3DS v7.95 configuration screen. There's a lot of options and I'm not quite sure which switches to pull here.

@EmBlaze Do you mean encrypted cias as in encrypted legit cias? Encrypted legit cias includes TMD and tickets. Shouldn't we worried about online play then?
Yeah, though I personally don't favour using the word "legit". As for online play, all I remember is that cia's use your console's ID (forgot exact name) instead of the cartridge headers.

If it's a 3ds file, then publicly pirated ones are easy to detect as they all have the same headers. Every console have their own unique ID, so generally cia's don't have the same problem.

This may help (FunkyCIA is as dead as freeShop btw): https://gbatemp.net/threads/what-is-a-legit-cia-and-other-noob-cia-questions-answered.386705/

*Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong here or things have changed. Best get a more experienced input to confirm.

Hello, I would appreciate it if someone could help me

I tried installing the CFW with boot9strap and got it right. But then I accidentally deleted the Nintendo 3DS folder on the sd card, and I formated it, and now that I am trying to install CFW again it stays in the black screen and show the message ''PROBLEM VERIFYING BACKUP.BIN''

getting through that problem was the main reason why I formatted it, but now I don't know what to do :/

I haven't been using 3ds in almost a year. Recently got switch and saw that there was a ban that happened in Feb 2018. Have a couple of questions :

1. Are region changed 3ds at higher risk of ban than normal 3ds with cfw?

2. I have multiple emunand across 4 of my consoles. Is there a way to check how many emunand each of them has? I couldn't remember. But I had like kor Japanese etc emunands via region change on different consoles. Lol. If I'm not mistaken, the only way to check is to boot into emunand individually to see unless improvements have been made to emunand booting.

I came up with some steps to check for emunand/ban. Would appreciate if someone could confirm my steps as I'm kinda rusty to 3ds now.

- update b9s & luma.
(My old 3ds is on A9LH I'm sure. Are those still supported? Also can I do the replacing of files over ftp/wireless for n3ds? Would the process of copy/paste .firm and luma files cause any possible brick?)
- turn off house wifi
- boot into emunand to check for existence by holding R/L and toggling from Luma settings
- delete freeshop and themes
- put legit UM cart into 3ds on whichever nand I want to update
- boot into UM once (so Nintendo gets that title as last played)
- turn on wifi and update system / UM
- go to Friend list / eshop to check if banned

3. I saw multiple people suggesting to keep my private seed (if unbanned) and use a public seed in the meantime to remain risk-free. How do I go about doing exactly that? The only page I could find was this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/all-3-methods-to-get-unbanned-from-recent-ban-wave.450679/ assuming method 3 is still working.

Alternatively as I have 4 consoles I hope booting them up I will have at least one console not banned so I can use the seed for the remaining consoles. How should I extract my seed?

4. Seems like updating to 11.8 is a must with the newer Nintendo updates server side. But does that open cfw users to risk that Nintendo can actually track our less than legitimate usage?

5. So is Pokemon SUMO/USUM(?) update 1.2 really the reason for the Feb 2018 ban?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I just finished installing LUMA and the other CFW stuff on my 3ds using the 3DS Hack guide. I'd like to run a game rom on my 3ds. Do I need a CIA file or a 3DS file? Where do I put them? I'm not sure what to do next.

Download the cia and put it in any folder you want on the SD card (I just place in fbi). Then open FBI, navigate to that folder, and install (you can delete cia to save space).

You can think of cia (not the decrypted ones for Citra) as an installer, and 3ds as roms for flashcarts. Unlike freeShop, you need enough space for both the cia and game to install (before you can delete the file).

I wanted to play DS pokemon games on my new nintendo 2ds xl(11.8 latest version). Custom firmware is installed btw..
So I used the flashcard that I used before when I installed custom firmware. It's r4i gold 3ds plus which has switches(ntrbootmode/dsmode).
I switched back to dsmode, put the kernel files in my sd card

Kernel that I used: WOOD R4 V1.64 Released. (2013-11-08) This one. (http://r4ids.cn/r4i-download-e.htm)

made ds games folder in my sd card, put pokemon roms, and I put the flashcard in my 2ds and ran the file.

https://imgur.com/a/Of2zGfP

turn out to be like this. I can't see the name of the folders, upper screen is just all white...
but I could run ds pokemon games... How can I fix the invisible folder names? wrong kernel? I need help T^T
