Nintendo, known for their intense final Direct announcements revealed that one of their major IPs, Animal Crossing, would be heading to the Switch. The announcement came as a rollercoaster ride for fans, initially teasing Isabelle for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and then dropping the announcement suddenly at the end. You do relise the n64 version was ported to the gamecube right?
It is so much the n64 version in fact that it fit's entirely in the on board ram and you only need the disk to boot up the game and save/load

Yes I realize that. But there is something fun about playing it with the original visuals. Every time the n64 controller pops up on screen it makes me happy.

I only had an n64 for years after the gamecube came out. And my bro in college owned animal crossing. Whenever I would visit him I would get to play it. He told me there was a japanese animal crossing for the n64 and I was super jealous.

When I learned about the fanlation I got it and played it.

Yes there are very few differences between the n64 version and the gamecube version. Yes this is illogical. But this shows how obsessed I was with the series back in the day.

When I saw the part with Isabelle at the end of the direct I got so excited, but then my heart sank when it was just introducing her to Smash. I mean, that's cool and all, but Smash isn't really my thing. Then the last part with Tom Nook made me so happy, I can't wait! I will miss the beautiful music from New Leaf though, but eh, I have the chrome extension for that

Well I'd certainly have no objections if they did! It's just that, to my knowledge, they haven't reused overworld music before.

Animal Crossing is very much an "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." kinda game. It's certainly not for everyone, but saying it'll be trash and boring is purely subjective.

I'd also like to hear some valid points as to why it's bad, if you're able to come up with any.

Telling me!! I was hyped when it popped up and then to say it was for Smash left me deflated... and then the upper immediately followed and I was super excited!! I must be one of the few people that arent interested in smash!
